I've noticed that many of the artists talked about on this board are classical or crossover, so instead of opening a hundred threads about artists from different genres (which no one would reply to), I decided to open this one, for non-classical or crossover artists we enjoy.
I love Barabara Streisand, Olivia Newton-John, and many songs from the band Sixpence None the Richer (with Leigh Nash, who did vocals on violinist Lucia Micarelli's CD). And I absolutely love Frank Sinatra. I've been listening to him ever since I was in kindergarten.
Anyone else?

The Postal Service, Leonard Cohen, Feist, Paddy Mcaloon, Prefab Sprout, Pernice Brothers, Lucia Micarelli, DIana Yukawa.
Everyone should listen to The Postal Service's "Give Up" and Leonard Cohen. And get Paddy Mcaloon's "I Trawl the Megahertz."

On top of my list of non-classical artists got to be Lara Fabian and The Corrs. Finally had the chance to watch Lara's En Toute Intimite dvd the other day, excellent live acoustic performance.... although my french isn't good enough to understand what she's singing Other artists on my top 10 "pop" list would include: Tara MacLean, Tina Arena, Delta Goodrem, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion and perhaps a bit of old Mariah Carey. Someone, since you like Frank Sinatra, you'll probably like Michael Buble. Saw parts of his tv concert on pbs the other day, great performances especially the duet with Laura Pausini. Will have to record it from the rerun. BTW, he's from Vancouver Interesting both someone and portia mentioned Lucia Micarelli. I saw her playing the violin in Josh Groban's pbs "Close" special. Somehow she reminds me of Lili Haydn who was in his last pbs special. To follow the tradition started by portia, I would recommend Lara Fabian's self titled cd (in english) and Tara MacLean's "Passenger". Allen

Hi everyone, Reading over my post, I cant believe I forgot to add Celine Dion to my list. She is one of my favourite vocalists. Also, I discovered an amazing young singer, Kaitlyn Lusk, with a very powerful voice. You can listen to her singing here: www.kaitlynlusk.com/Love, Someone

Hello Someone! Thank you for the link to Kaitlyn Lusk's web site. I agree she has a great voice, and the video clips are well worth watching too. Best Wishes from London, Richard

Hi Someone, Kaitlyn certainly has an amazing voice and I'm sure she has a future on Broadway if she wants it. Unfortunately, it's not really my sort of thing. Good luck to her. Roger
