Hi Libby, Thanks for sharing this I saw it on Songs of Praise a few weeks ago - probably the date at the top of the screen, 20th March, Palm Sunday. Since then I have bought her new album

Did she sing more than one song on Songs of Praise? I posted the video of her singing So I Could Find My Way for the program above a while back.

Thanks for posting that Libby, I really enjoyed it and it's so rare to see Enya interviewed on TV, and singing live.
I wish I'd noticed your post sooner because the BBC only keep the episodes on their iPlayer for one month, and that occurred 2 days ago so it's gone. Unless someone else recorded the whole show, we've missed it but John may recall if she sung anything else that day.
Cheers, Dave

I found an interesting performance from 2001, at an awards show in Japan, where she won an award! Now, why in the world can't Hayley win an award in Japan, if nowhere else in the world??

Hello Dave! I've found Enya's interview and performance on YouTube, but it may not be there for long due to a copyright claim against Songs of Praise! The whole show without Enya's song is here: Here's the official video: Richard

Cool! A couple months ago, Enya also gave an extremely rare, truly live performance (that is, not playback of the album track). Here's the performance: I think it's quite lovely (especially considering she hasn't performed truly live in about 11 years!) -Taylor i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

What was her truly live performance 11 years ago? I read something that said she hasn't performed live since the Oscars. Now, that would have been 2002, which is 14 years ago. I do remember that she performed Amarantine on Live (with Regis & Kelly, back then). Maybe that's it? I honestly wouldn't mind if she used an album track on a tour. Just seeing her in person would be enough.

Enya sang a few lovely songs for a Christmas TV show broadcast this Christmas Eve. I do love that beautiful Donegal accent and i know i am not the only Enya fan on HWI.

No kidding, comet. You know I'm a fan. I recently bought her short Christmas album that came out with Amarantine, called Christmas Secrets. There are only 4 songs on it. It has Adeste Fideles and We Wish You a Merry Christmas, as well as 2 originals.

Yes, but I'm not sure that digital recordings transferred to vinyl are anything but a fad, since they will still lack the information between samples, unlike analogue recordings.

Yes, but I'm not sure that digital recordings transferred to vinyl are anything but a fad, since they will still lack the information between samples, unlike analogue recordings. For me personally it's more about the experience than the quality (as terribly cheesy as that sounds). I could go into all that, but I'll suffice to say that I just find records more a lot more fun and engaging. So, even if vinyl doesn't sound better according to the numbers, it certainly gets my attention better And if I'm not paying attention, my ears probably wouldn't care if i were listening to the master tapes or a lossy 128 kpbs MP3 But you've got a very good point, Martin! If quality is what I'm after, I'm certainly on board with a 24-bit FLAC or SACD/DVD-A/Blu-Ray Audio, or (in an ideal world) those wonderful 15ips reel-to-reel master tapes. -Taylor
