Ok, tonight I have been busy experimenting with searches for Yulia Townsend (as is documented elsewhere).
When searching Google for
yulia singer -tatu -nova -pop -tymoshenko -forum,
I found a link stating
"She scored 36525 points, and bronze was won by Yulia Lozechko from Russia ...
a [glow=red,2,300]Dutch singer and super star, who is famous all over the world with her title ..."[/glow]
I followed that link www.gymmedia.com/Athens04/Amsterdam/news_e.htm, and then I found a reference to a Dutch singer called Do (pronounced as in "doe").
There is at least a Yulia connection, because I found this page when searching for info about Yulia!
That was intrigueing. But if you think though that locating information about "Yulia" on Google is a challenge, try a search for "Do" . You'll get close to 1,000,000,000 hits.
I had never heard about Do, but a search on "dutch singer do" povided some promising results.
The full name of this singer is Dominique van Hulst. (And, believe it or not, "Hulst" is Dutch for ...."Holly" - so we have a Holly connection as well.)
And Do has performed a song called "Heaven". Would there also be a Hayley connection?
Here is a 90 second excerpt - I quite like it! But it is certainly not Hayley's Heaven ...

If you want to hear more from Do, here are two links:
www.domusic.nl/
www.whoisdo.com/
There are quite a few clips to listen to. Perhaps Do isn't quite in the crossover genre, but I think she is worth a listen.
At least the way I found out about her is quite unusual - and maybe, as a fellow Dutchie, I should have known about her!
