Having already made my first posts, I think I should introduce myself. I have lived in Dublin all my life and am a big live music fan. My serious interest in music began in the late '90s when I discovered Eva Cassidy. I thought she had the most incredible voice, range, phrasing, guitar playing and interpretation of songs. When I went to find out more I discovered that Eva had died at 33 years of age in 1996, so I would never hear her sing 'live'. I got into correspondence with her cousin, who runs a website dedicated to Eva, and she encouraged people to go to live music gigs in their area. Eva had often played to almost empty houses. I am interested in music of all sorts, and when I hear an artist I like, I try to get to see them live, and often get to meet them afterwards. Live music is well catered for in Dublin with plenty venues. I have admired Hayley's voice since I first heard it, but for some reason never expected to see her 'live', and certainly never expected to meet her. And now I have done both !
I would again like to thank everyone for making me feel so at home, and welcome here, and to thank Hayley for pointing me in your direction !

Hi Gerard and welcome again to the forum! I thoroughly enjoyed reading your introduction post. How interesting to read your story about Eva Cassidy. I'm not used to see artists I like performing live and I believe it will be the first time I do so with Hayley. I will follow your cousin's advice and try to go to live music gigs in my area whenever I have the opportunity Very best wishes from Paris, Stephany

Hi Gerard,
Thank you for telling us more of your musical interests. For me, it is not only an enjoyable experience to see a favourite artist perform live, but even hearing their CDs from then on becomes more meaningful.
Like you, when I first heard Hayley's voice on the radio, and learned she was a New Zealander, I assumed I would never see her live. Six weeks later, I met her!
Everyone assumes that Hayley is a delightful, down-to-earth girl just by hearing her voice. As you know, she is all that and more.
I am sure you will soon feel at home with us all on the forum and I look forward to hearing from you in future.
All the best, Roger

Welcome from Northern Ireland. Hope you like it here and get to "mingle" with all the other fans of Hayley. I have never really been to a live concert as such, but hoping to as soon as I can.
Like you, I admired Hayley as soon as I heard her and got "hooked" Glad you met her and saw her live. Must have been quite an experience. Hopefully I will, but it might not be until next year.
once again, welcome.
