Hello Raymond! I've found these English lyrics at danmillermusic.com. 6. Wachet Auf, ruft uns die Stimme – J.S. BachPublic Domain Wake, awake, for night is flying; The watchmen on the heights are crying: Awake, Jerusalem, at last! Midnight hears the welcome voices And at the thrilling cry rejoices; Come forth, ye virgins, night is past; The Bridegroom comes, awake; Your lamps with gladness take; Alleluia! And for His marriage feast prepare For ye must go and meet Him there. Zion hears the watchmen singing, And all her heart with joy is springing; She wakes, she rises from her gloom; For her Lord comes down all glorious, The strong in grace, in truth victorious. Her Star is risen, her Light is come. Ah come, Thou blessèd One, God’s own belovèd Son: Alleluia! We follow till the halls we see Where Thou hast bid us sup with Thee. Now let all the heavens adore Thee, And saints and angels sing before Thee, With harp and cymbal’s clearest tone; Of one pearl each shining portal, Where we are with the choir immortal Of angels round Thy dazzling throne; Nor eye hath seen, nor ear hath yet attained to hear What there is ours, but we rejoice and sing to Thee Our hymn of joy eternally. Arranged by Bach as an organ solo from his Cantata No. 140 for choir and chamber orchestra, the melody is based on a hymn by Philipp Nicolai. Bach wrote this cantata for the 27th Sunday after Trinity, which is the first week of Advent. -------------------------------------- I hope this helps. Richard

You introduce an interesting site, Richard. My immediate reaction was 'New England'. I was astounded to find it was California!

Well I finally bought "Into Paradise" this week after dropping hints for months to various family members, for a present to get me... all to no avail But now, i have it and I love it... as I knew I would! Some of the tracks are exceptionally good and the rest is very nice too. I wouldn't place it above either of Hayley's International albums but Sissel has a lovely voice and it isn't far behind. This album deserved to do much better in the classical charts than it did (lower half of the chart at best). I hope the record Company will re-release it the next time Sissel visits the UK (or US) and next time, gives it a lot more promotion than before. You can still listen to Sissel's interview and short performance on BBC Radio 4's "Womans Hour" a few months ago. It's here and I just did! Cheers, Dave

The angelic voice on 'Into Paradise' is almost as captivating as Hayley's? Sissel's ability to interpret/get to the essence of a song is impressive - a talent Hayley shows well in 'Hayley Sings Japanese Songs'. My favourites on 'Into Paradise' are 'Vitae Lux', 'In Paradisum' and 'Like an Angel'. Recommended listening for all Hayley fans. I wonder - did Sissel ever sing with Hayley? Paddy
