Wow! Thanks so much for the warm welcome! Regarding posting, I first want to read through some of the many different forums on this site and catch up. I don't really have any questions at this time, and certainly nothing of value to add right now. I haven't kept up on Hayley. Once the "official" forum disappeared, I just sort of let it go. Haven't lost interest in Hayley's music, I just haven't kept up on things. I haven't yet bought her new CD, although I intend to. Just haven't had the time to stop in somewhere and pick one up. Working 12/7 tends to take up most of one's time. Caite, I recall you being at the Minneapolis concert. You got to meet Hayley because you're a little more adventurous than I. I'd never have thought to ask security if I could meet here. But then, one look at my ugly mug and they'd throw me out. One thing I've become accustomed to is that Hayley won't likely be coming back to Minnesota any time soon. (I don't blame her) Nice site and forums, by the way. Very nice. I can tell people have put a lot of hard work into this one. I've been in here before over the last few years, but never registered until the other day. Mark D.

After being a member of this forum for a couple of weeks, I tried today to register on the "oficial" forum....it kept telling me my username and password didn't match....am I doing something incorrectly? Any ideas welcome!!!

Hi southernfan,
There have been problems with the official forum for some time. It appeared to be resolved for a while but, when they redesigned it, many of us (including me) had difficulties again. I don't believe it is because you are doing anything wrong and it is likely to be a software problem. I can only suggest you try it from time to time in the hope that it works eventually which is what I did. Meanwhile, I hope you can find all you need here at HWI!
Roger

thanks Roger....I guess I just can't get on that site right now, as I tried again today (London, Ontario Canada time 9 a.m.) I am trying to get around this site but I do seem to get "lost" alot, and when I wiew the 30 most recent posts quite often I don't have a CLUE what anyone is talking about!!! I guess I need more experience!!!

Hi southernfan, I know a lot of members favour the last 30 post option but I don't find it particularly helpful for the very reasons you describe. You may prefer to enter one particular board, "Hayley in Concert" for example, and select any thread which contains a post that was made since your last visit (indicated by the blue icons to the left). In general, the forum is structured into a logical order (we hope!) and each thread (or topic) in any one board appears in chronological order of its most recent post with the most recent at the top. Have fun looking around! Roger

thanks Roger. I think I will give up on the "30 most recent "for a while!! But the most recent posts on a thread are in "page order" aren't they? With the most recent being on the last page? For example I went to the Elizabeth Elming page that you mentioned to me, but the most recent posts were not at the top, but on the last page.....

Yes, you are right about the order of the posts within any given thread, southernfan. If a board contains 6 pages (and it will say on the index page), then click on the "6" to take you to the most recent page, and scroll down if necessary.

I guess I need more experience!!! Just take your time. May I suggest you look at one or two threads that interest you and simply scroll back to gather their history? The other option depends upon how often you visit. At the present rate of posting the last 30 posts does not help you so I can understand your confusion. You need to search back further posts to gain the overall gist. Persevere--it is well worth it but you raise an interesting question which we should think over. We who have some history absorb without thinking of it but perhaps we should take a look with fresh eyes at how diverse we are getting? Another answer, simply, as with any other database resource, you seek what you need and pay attention to that aspect alone? Peter S.

...perhaps we should take a look with fresh eyes at how diverse we are getting? Hi Peter, We always welcome ideas and feedback so, if you would care to elaborate on that, please feel free to start a new thread on the Suggestions board. Thanks, Roger PS. Aaaaaaaaaargh! I can't believe I've asked Peter to elaborate! Somebody moderate me, pleeeeeease! PPS. Only joking, Peter!

Even I criticise myself some times for being overly detailed! Seriously, I think there is something to learn from southernfan. I'll mull it over. In the mean time, I love it! Were you watching Doctor Who and thinking of the double paradox by any chance? Peter S.

thanks Peter and Roger! You are correct in saying that I don't post very often (yet) but I have been finding my way around the site, and I was using the "30 most recent posts" as I thought that was the easiest way to get up to date on Hayley news....it seems Roger was correct in telling me to "pick a thread" and read just one at a time. Because the 30 most recent posts covers so many topics it is very difficult to follow what you seasoned veterans are chatting about! Sometimes it does feel more like a chatroom as you are personally answering each other....don't get me wrong I am enjoying the site-I just need to become more familiar with the way it is run!
