Her time in Celtic Woman did Hayley no harm, Been there, done that ..... Time to move on, I think. I think the discipline of dancing to someone else's tune ..... might do her no harm for a while. Some have said that Hayley has been dancing too much to Decca's tune of late and some (even on this forum) actually believe it! For everything there is a season theory ......

We're not saying her time with CW did her harm. If you got that from our posts, then you misread them. We're just saying we don't want her to go back. And.. it wouldn't hurt for her to dance to someone's tune FOR A WHILE??? That's only what she's been doing for years now! Do you not know that's the whole reason we're all so frustrated these days? I'm not sure when she'll have "nothing else to do". By the time that happens, she might have kids by then, so she would never have "nothing to do" again for the rest of her life, probably! As far as her music goes, even if musically there wasn't anything else happening, she at least might not want to be away from home for long periods of time. So I don't think it will, or should, ever happen.

Hello Bob! You have to be logged in to Facebook to see it. This is what it says: I know nothing about this, and I don't believe it! Richard Wilson Hi Richard, As soon as I saw your "Richard Wilson" I knew that I had some research to do. It meant nothing to me other than that there must be some "Richardism" behind it. With the help of Google and Wikipedia I now know. BobS www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLNrLI3OBwg

I've removed a few posts from this thread which were off-topic and turning into a heated argument. Please keep this thread to the subject of Celtic Woman (without Hayley), and let's all be polite to each other from now on. Many thanks, Richard

I'm still thinking about Orla and her US tour back in 2011. I had a look at the CW forum for discussion on it, and I found a list of tour dates beforehand, and they weren't even sure these were all of them..!!
March 24 Salt Lake City, UT March 26 Boulder, CO March 27 Beavercreek, CO April 1 Harrisburg, PA April 3 Roanoke, VA April 5 Philadelphia, PA April 6 Washington DC April 7 Washington DC April 8 Easton, MD April 9 Bayshore, NY April 10 Tarrytown, NY April 13 Northampton, MA April 14 Bellows Falls, VT April 15 Ridgefield, CT April 16 Somerville, MA April 17 South Orange, NJ April 20 Buffalo, NY April 21 Geneva, NY April 23 Albany, NY April 28 Columbus, OH May 1 Indianapolis, IN May 2 Minneapolis, MN September 23 Memphis, TN October 6 Bethlehem, PA October 13 Spokane, WA October 14 Seattle, WA October 15 Tacoma, WA October 16 Portland, OR October 19 Chico, CA October 20 Sacramento, CA October 22 Berkley, CA October 25 Fresno, CA October 27 Malibu, CA October 30 San Diego, CA November 5 Wickenburg, AZ November 6 Phoenix, AZ
I was at the concert in Tacoma, exactly 3 years ago today!! I'm not sure she actually was in Seattle... oh, I think there must have been some reason I couldn't go on the 14th, that's what it was. I wish I remembered what the venue was! It's not easy to find info on past tours, they all just say "this artist doesn't have any tour dates at this time", or something.
Anyway, my point in posting this is to show you how big of a tour a former Celtic Woman member can have. And you also may notice that it doesn't necessarily have to be all at once. So, she had a nice vacation in between the spring and fall dates. Orla did have an album to promote of course, and then she did have a PBS show/DVD to help advertise it even further. So, Hayley might need to have the help of PBS to help her cause even further, and I just don't know if she would be able to do that (if her management/record company was that serious about her, and thought this would work [it would!], they could do it). She wouldn't even have to have Celtic songs on her album to be promoted as a former CW member... though, of course, it wouldn't hurt to have one or 2 Celtic-leaning songs. I'm not saying she should, but she's good at them, so why not? Even a folksy song reminiscent of Summer Fly would help that cause.

Well, I wouldn't describe either of the solos Hayley did on "A New Journey" as Celtic. They are both English really (Handel is recognised as an English composer before you ask). Should could of course to "Last Rose of Summer" as a solo, or "She Moved through the Fair".
As an aside I spent some time the other day listening to many different versions of "She Moved through the Fair" including people like Sandy Denny/Fairport Convention and even Jimmy Page who did it as a brilliant guitar solo. I can to the conclusion that nobody does that song better than Hayley.

Many of them are crossover or pop, broadway, etc. You should know what I mean, Martin. Songs she sang while in CW would be the ones her CW fans would especially hope to hear, even though it's been 7 years, since she hasn't toured here since then.
