Thanks for the info Dave. Yes, the Amazon UK site does list Odyssey at £8.99 but, when you place an order, it tells you something diffferent: ______________________________ Items: £7.65 Postage & Packing: £1.24 Total before VAT: £8.89 (10p less!) VAT: £1.56 Order Total: £10.45 ______________________________ Just goes to show, you can't believe everything you read. Roger

VAT: £1.56 Order Total: £10.45 ______________________________ Just goes to show, you can't believe everything you read. Roger Hi Roger, yes, you certainly can't believe everything you read! But the Amazon price is essentially correct It says £8.99 on the web page and that's not delivered, so you have to add standard delivery if that's all you are ordering. Standard delivery is £1.16 per order + £0.29 per item as mentioned here. So the order should total £10.44. The penny difference is probably rounding, somewhere along the line. I'm trying to find out more about the charts/Jersey thing but anyway, I will buy mine from my local Tesco Sainsburys or Asda supermmarket where I expect the price to have dropped to £8.99 by release date (mail order is always my last resort!). This seems to be the standard release price for new chart CDs and my goodness, they'd all better have it in their chart - or they'll have ME to answer to! It's currently up to rank 115 at Amazon as i write, and no. 2 in the Classicals. Cheers, Dave

Ah but the £8.99 does include the delivery charge. It is the VAT that is not included in that price. Roger

Ah but the £8.99 does include the delivery charge. It is the VAT that is not included in that price. Roger Yes it is! First they take off the VAT from the £8.99, then they take off the VAT from the £1.45 delivery charge. Making £7.65 + £1.24. (£7.65 + 17.5% = £8.99; £1.24 + 17.5% = £1.45.7p). The 45.7p (rounded) is where the extra penny comes from. Naughty Amazon! So they add the two ex VAT prices together, £7.65+£1.24, = £8.89. Add 17.5% on that making £10.44.575p which rounded makes £10.45 but it SHOULD be £10.44 (£8.99 + £1.45 delivery). Naughty Amazon!!! If you buy two, you can have free supersaver delivery: Amazon.co.uk Order Summary Items: £15.30 Postage & Packing: £0.00 Total before VAT: £15.30 VAT: £2.68 Order Total: £17.98 (2 x £8.99) Dave

I already posted this somewhere where there was a question about it, but it makes more sense to post it here. Anyway, for anybody from the United States that is thinking about buying the album it is cheaper to buy it off Amazon.co.uk (they ship to the US) than the regular Amazon. I bought the first UK release from the British Amazon and paid a little over $20 in comparison to the $30+ the other Amazon wanted.

Very good but... it's like the Jersey imports and may not count for the charts. People will choose for themselves but not me, I won't take the chance. I've emailed Amazon UK to ask them specifically about this charts issue for a) normal Amazon UK CDs and b) Amazon Jersey CDs. Watch this space! Dave

To match Play.com: Tesco Jersey £8.95 including UK delivery - for delivery on date of release. Amazon would not answer my question about charts eligibility (surprise, surprise!) but others think the Jersey sales of UK stores may just be added to their UK sales for the charts. So, no defnite answer but anyway, it's the same for all albums in the charts so maybe we should just go for the best deal out there? Incidentally, Virgin Megastores are currently selling the 16 track UK Odyssey for £6.99 so look out for more bargains on it in the coming weeks as old stock is sold off. Dave

The total of my purchase, with delivery charge came out to $18.78 US. The US Amazon wanted $32.98 , before applied shipping charge!

Hello everybody! Here is some useful information for anybody who wants to buy the new UK edition of 'Odyssey' the old-fashioned way, from a shop. Virgin Megastores have now reduced their in-store price from £16.99 to £9.99! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifIt is still £13.99 at HMV, where I bought my copy! Best Wishes, Richard

Hehe, thanks Richard, that should help Hayley's sales this week! I'm not surprised they've had to reduce their price though as the three main Supermarket chains are selling it at under £10 too, and I don't mean online! Also I think, Woolworths. I'm surprised that Virgin sold any at their old price (they probably didn't!). HMV are also a bit overpriced I think and perhaps WH Smith too. They need to realise that someone of Hayley's popularity should be priced like a pop album not a classical album (even if it is a technically classical album). Cheers, Dave

Hello Dave and everybody! I must update my information from yesterday. The new UK edition of 'Odyssey' is now priced at £9.99 in the Virgin Megastore at Piccadilly Circus (formerly Tower Records). However, it is still £16.99 in the Virgin Megastore at Oxford Street, near Tottenham Court Road. I'll check again later this week to see if the prices come into line, meanwhile Hayley's other London fans should head for Piccadilly Circus! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBye for now, Richard

Hello again everybody! As promised in the previous post, I've just paid a visit to the Virgin Megastore in London's Oxford Street. I'm pleased to report that they have now also reduced the in-store price of the new 'Odyssey' to £9.99, the same as their branch at Piccadilly Circus. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBye for now, Richard
