I proudly join the migration of new members to this site.
I live in southern California and, like some others, recently discovered Hayley while viewing the Celtic Woman’s A New Journey on PBS. I was already an admirer of Celtic Woman from their previous telecast, and was wary of any new “additions.” I was not prepared to be moved by something different. So as the women paraded out, I calmly settled in my chair…and then I caught a glimpse of this exquisite creature. My first thought was that her addition must be largely cosmetic. My 15 year old son blurted out, “She’s hot!” And then the heavens opened up and she began to sing. Well, you guys know the rest, but I shall tell it anyway.
Hayley captivated me that night and, as is my inclination, I had to know everything. So I lurked on this and other sites and purchased Pure and Odyssey. The more I learned and the more I listened, the more I concluded that this kiwi was simply too good to be true. I suspect others of you feel similarly. I am not a particularly religious individual, but it is to religion that I find myself turning for adequate descriptors of Hayley’s magic. Over the years I’ve been worn-down by the headlines and have grown cynical about my children’s future. But Haley’s voice has offered sanctuary. It is sublime, it is pure, and it so clearly comes from a place that is good. That something so beautiful might issue forth, and that it has the power to transform cynicism into hope, is proof enough for me that forces beyond my ability to comprehend are at work. Hayley is my muse.
As I read through this forum I am genuinely impressed by the level of discussion. Only fitting, I suppose, given the subject. I hope to share my thoughts from time to time when I feel I truly have something to add, particularly on the issue of Hayley’s growth in the US market. I lead a fairly high profile life so I will remain anonymous for now, but please know that I already feel a kindred spirit with the members here.

Hello provider and a very warm welcome to you.
In one introductory post, I think you have summarized perfectly what so many of us feel about Hayley. As you have seen, we have a very active forum here and I am sure your input will be much appreciated. I hope you enjoy being a part of Hayley's ever-growing community.
Best wishes, Roger
PS. Your son has good taste!

Welcome, Provider.
It is great to hear what we hoped would happen, that those already knowing Celtic Woman, once hearing Hayley would want to follow through. Fewer will go to the trouble that you have taken but one suspects there are many more who will at least look our for and buy the Hayley CDs. Excellent.
May I offer a descriptor for you? 'spiritual'? 'Religion' is too restrictive, or perhaps prescriptive--arguably even proscriptive! Hayley is careful not to reveal her religious inclinations. Perhaps more accurately, has chosen NOT to reveal them for the moment, while unequivocally stating her position as a Christian.
Her appeal is across religious divisions and diversified mindsets. To me, religion is but a side chapel in the cathedral that is philosophy. Hers is an outgoing expansive view that is all-embracing of those qualities beyond the physical, hence the meta-physical, hence spirituality declining definition?
Peter S.
PS: For sound reasons that are obvious to all of average sensitivities, saving those accustomed to the crass public soap box that I am accustomed to, so am still occasionally floored by our (generally) gentlesness of discourse, we don't talk about religion! In response to two very interesting PMs on the above, may I confirm my intention was to dwell on commonality of ground by avoiding highlighting differences! There is so much we all agree on let's not worry about the odd fly in the soup, in case everyone else wants one!,

Hello Provider, A very warm welcome from me too!, it's always great to find others who find Hayley so enchanting. I hope you are able to get to see Hayley on her CW tour this spring and earl summer. Once you have met her you will be totally bowled over, as you could not wish to meet a more sincere and genuinely lovable character, she always finds time to spend with those who follow her, and that is something special these days. We look forward to your reports and comments, do join in when you can. Very best wishes for the future. Steve H

Thank you all for the gracious welcome.
A few follow-ups:
postscript:
Thank you for your thoughts. I want to be certain that the distinction I tried to make is clear. I think I was careful to say that I was evoking religious “descriptors,” not that I was espousing a given faith. I felt, and continue to feel, that these descriptors offer the proper depth and most accurate window to my emotions. And I was certainly not expressing any thoughts with respect to Hayley’s religious affinity nor my own. I’m sorry if this was not clear. As for substituting the word “spiritual,” I purposely steered clear of that term because it’s meaning has been devalued and diluted, I think, at least in the States. Again, none of this was intended to pit religion against philosophy, or Zoroastrianism vs. Buddhism. I wanted only to convey the potency of Hayley’s gifts. Thank you for allowing me to clarify that point.
Steve H
I do indeed have tickets for Celtic Woman’s May 5 performance at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, in which Hayley is scheduled to participate.

Hello Provider!
I extend a warm welcome to you. So glad to hear that you will be attending one of the Celtic Woman performances that Hayley is taking part in.
I, too, was captivated upon learning of Hayley's voice. You will find her CD's to be timeless and without boundaries.
Since you live in southern California, and to help raise awareness of Hayley, I would imagine that the HOLLYWOOD sign would look much better as HAYLEYWOOD !
I'm very much looking forward to your posts.
Take care, Joe
