Hi everyone, on November 7 Decca will release a Special Limited Edition of ODYSSEY in New Zealand which will include a bonus disc featuring mainly the U.K. additions. Here is the tracklisting of the bonus disc: 1. Bridal Ballad 2. O Mio babbino caro 3. Laudate Dominum 4. Wiegenlied 5. Ave Maria (NOA) 6. The Mists of Islay And this is where I found the information: www.marbecks.co.nz/detail/index.lsd?catalogID=301979Can anyone tell me what the "NOA" in parantheses next to Ave Maria means? I don't know any composer by this name so I reckon it must be an abbreviation of some sort, perhaps New Orchestral Arrangement. Well, I faithfully ordered this one, too. Regards, Holger

Your suggestion may be correct. If not, we may have to wait for someone to get this version before we find out. Roger

Thanks for writing about this! Maybe I can pick one up while I'm over here!
Right now I'm trying to find a bookstore where I can pick up two copies of Hayley's biography, one for me and for a friend.
So far I've been able to collect Yulia's "Into the West - Special Edition CD" and I'd love to get the special edition "Odyssey" as well.
Hugs, Natasha

Well, hello! Today, I had ODYSSEY SE in the mail (Hey Belinda, that makes the sixth version ... ) and the mystery around the second Ave Maria has been unraveled. Hayley here does a Keedie-style interpretation of Bach's Ave Maria - in English instead of Latin, and with a soft rhythm. Sorry folks, gotta buy this one, too - sounds great and looks great (additional wrapping with "Special Edition" written in imprinted golden letters :eek2: )! Regards, Holger

Hi everyone
Just thought I would enlighten everyone regarding Ave Maria (Noa!). First of all I have to say that this is my all time Hayley favourite!!
I see Holger called it a Keedie style interpretation. In an actual fact Hayley did a recording of this long before Keedie had even heard it. Chris Neil, the UK producer Hayley worked with before 'Pure' came to be, introduced the song to Hayley four years ago. She recorded a version of it way back then but it was never re-recorded for 'Pure'....much to my dismay! So when Chris Neil started working with Keedie he thought this would be a great song to bring out (since Hayley hadn't used it), not realising that Hayley had just recorded it for 'Odyssey'.........a little bit of history behind this song. With regards to 'Noa' (aka Achinoam Nini), this is the name of the woman who re-wrote this song.
I have to say (am biased of course!) that it is definitely worth getting the NZ Special Edition of 'Odyssey' just to get this track.
Best wishes to you all (especially Keith at the moment) Gerald (Hayley's dad)
