I find that 'Odyssey' won't be released in China except HK and Taiwan. So, fans in Mainland China can't buy 'Odyssey'. I am wondering is 'Pure' released in Mainland China? I think the answer is no.

Hi Guys,
I couldnt find anything relating to a release in China.
There could be a lot of factors to why its not being released there. The style of music is'nt popular, too expenisve to market and also the logistical side of things.
If they could market China, it would be a dream, especially with the huge population.

Piracy may be the reason. Here is an extract from the June 2005 official report about it (from IFPI):"China (85% piracy rate): the world's largest pirate market, worth US$411 million, has seen a slight fall in the piracy level. Despite that, a lack of political will and absence of clear coordination between government agencies means there has been little substantial progress. Urgent and coordinated government action is still needed and courts must treat copyright infringement as a crime and impose deterrent sentences."I know there's no way that with figures like that, I would ever release *any* CD in China. I think they are referring to Mainland China not HK or Taiwan as the figures for them seem to be kept separately.

Hi Dave, Thanks for that. I'm amazed by that figure of 85%, nobody must make any money there. One of my friends is Chinese and he was saying that mostly all of the cds, dvds and computer software are pirates and cost next to nothing. Nobody really purchases from a store. Seems like the government don't care, unless they are looking for taxes from some items. Emmett i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Of course ,some people buy pirates, but some people also buy from stores.
