After our scenic tour on the way to Derry, we found a friendly smile awaiting us! Could it get any better than that! Now, I wouldn't mind having that poster!

Hello,
Sixteen songs? That's gotta be a first! I'm glad to hear that the audience enjoyed "Danny Boy". It's always very difficult for a performer to present such a well-known song.

Hi Paddy, Many thanks for the impressive song list. I make that 16 by Hayley. Of all the times I have seen her, I have never known her to do more than 15. It's the luck of the Irish, I guess! Roger Hi Roger, I hadn't counted until you mentioned it. Sixteen it was and might have been 17, only the audience at both shows seemed to think that was it, after the second encore. There were 3 encores on standby from the sound check in Derry Not having seen Hayley without an orchestra before, I thought she was really confident and 'in her element' at both concerts. No wonder, with the clear expertise we saw at the sound check. Hayley mentioned afterwards that she feels more relaxed when it's just her show. Of course the obvious rapport with Fiona and Ian helps a lot too. Paddy

Thanks for your first report, Paddy! Your remark about Hayley feeling more relaxed in her own concerts doesn't surprise me at all. She definitely likes to be in control, and other people enjoy working with her because of that. There could be other reasons too! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI'm really looking forward to more reports and photographs, please! Best Wishes, Richard

Hi Paddy Thanks for the song list and the photo's. Wow, 16, possibly 17 songs I know that you are right about Hayley feeling more relaxed when its her show. I have been to more of this type of Hayley concert than others with orchestras etc. and I always feel she is more comfortable. Particularly as you say when she has Ian & Fiona with her. I'm looking forward to hearing more about it. Best wishes Mark

Hi Paddy, The song list is remarkably similar to the one at Buxton. It must be a variation on a theme now.

How could she not sing that in Derry of all places. I see she wore the orange dress again. I was worried that if she did, it might be seen as a political statement. After all, I think Hayley can claim ancestry on both sides of that particular argument. But perhaps things are not a sensitive as they used to be over there. Martin

Drew - thank you very much for the superb video! Now I almost don't need to go to Hayley's concerts anymore because it's like having one at home Stephany Hi Stephany, Talk of movies on another thread just reminded me! You may even be able to go to Derry too - by DVD! A member of the film crew that followed Hayley (and us) from Derry to Belfast told me that they recorded the whole show in Derry! I'm not sure if they recorded all of the Belfast concert. As a special bonus, you might even see some of us that were interviewed! Or listen to our conversations with Hayley at the signing! I tried to negotiate free copies but with no success. Got no info on when the documentary will surface. Wouldn't it be luverly? Paddy

Nobody seemed at all bothered by it. Derry seemed normal too. Long may it last.

Wouldn't it be luverly? Oh, my goodness, could this finally be the coveted new Hayley DVD I've been pining for?! I suppose it would be a bit shorter than the original Live from New Zealand. The ideal DVD for me would be to have more Odyssey songs (like Never Saw Blue, O Mio Babbino Caro, She Moved Through the Fair) ; and more Treasure songs (like Summer Rain, Let Me Lie, and maybe Abide With Me), and fewer Pure songs, since we already have those on the first one. But at this point we can't really be too picky, can we? I'll be happy with any new Hayley DVD! Actually, I have my doubts about it being THE Hayley DVD I've been waiting for, because it seems like they'd try to make a bigger production out of it, like they did with the first one. And because I'm starting to lose hope that there will ever be one.

Hi Libby,
Not for a new Hayley music DVD, it seems.
I was told the shooting was for a documentary about Hayley and her visits to Ireland (and her fans) - for UNICEF.
Info was unclear as to whether all that footage will be used for a more general documentary on Hayley.
But why record the whole concert - just to bury it ?
Wishful thinking?
Paddy
