I was looking at the Henley Festival Web site and look what I found for Sat 12 July. Gala Performance featuring Hayley Westenra A concert of huge contrasts starring Hayley Westenra, the New Zealand born prodigy and a true singing sensation, with a crate full of platinum discs; and a list of credits that includes duets with the likes of Andrea Bocelli, Jose Carreras and Bryn Terfel and audiences that have included the Queen (three times in one week!) and George Bush. With the CBSO conducted by Henley regular Nicolae Moldoveanu, the concert also features drummers from the Royal Marine Corps, and guests to be confirmed. Web site link www.henley-festival.co.uk/programme_saturday.htmlTickets are open to the public from 10 March via web site. It will be amazing I will be going for the 4 days. You also have to dress formal that means 4 new evening gowns i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifmaryxx Sorry if it has been posted but I could not see it on the concert schedule for 2008.

Hi Mary Thanks for posting this - as far as I am aware, this is not something we already know about. Henley isn't far for me and I would really like to go. Thanks again for posting Best wishes Mark

Well done Mary, I think you have discovered this before the official release. It seems strange that concerts are well into the organisation stage before they are confirmed. Roger can you throw any light on this and maybe other concerts ?

Hello Mary,
Yes I also need to check if I can go easily from London to Henley. Then there is also the accommodation! But this Festival seems to be worth-it. Hope to see you there!
Stephany xx

Thank you Mary, that is certainly news to us. I have emailed Bedlam Management to ask for confirmation and will add it to the Schedule once it is received.

Hello everyone This certainly looks to be an interesting one but is it me or what? I can only see prices for car parking. Has anyone spotted the actual Festival ticket price? I also suspect the reason we haven't heard 'officially' yet is because it isn't confirmed. Best wishes Grant

Roger, I have checked back and Hayley's proposed concert at Orwell Park was penciled in for Sunday 13th July 2008. Are two concerts in two days feasible or is one now due to be scrapped Graham

Hi Graham,
Two (different) concerts in two days are not impossible so they could both go ahead. Unfortunately, neither of them have been confirmed at the moment.

Hi Roger, Life would be so much easier if and when we know a definite list of events for 2008. It is then possible to make some sort of plan. At the moment some events are selling tickets and by the time other ( maybe easier to get to events) have confirmed or not, the best seats from the others will be gone ! As this is my first year in this situation I am interested if this is usual, or how does this year compare to others Thanks Graham

Hi Mary, many thanks for your early alert. I really tend to book if there will be a good seat available on 10 March - but of course the price (if the same as last year) is a little bit ... prohibitive. Cheers, Karsten

Life would be so much easier if and when we know a definite list of events for 2008. Phew, you're telling me, Graham. Unfortunately, we are never likely to get a complete schedule for any particular year as events are being considered, discussed and (hopefully) confirmed all the time. It is therefore impossible for Bedlam to do more than to send me confirmation of one or two events at a time. This situation is perfectly normal but I accept it isn't easy when details are known, tickets are on sale but no confirmation has been received. I know some of our members book tickets in the knowledge that the event is not confirmed and hope for the best. Nine times out of ten, they would probably be safe. As a general rule, if you book tickets and then the main artist doesn't appear, you should be entitled to a refund (possibly less a handling charge or booking fee). If that artist was only making a guest appearance or one of several and they didn't appear, you would not be entitled to a refund if the event as a whole went ahead. At the end of the day everyone must decide for themselves whether they are prepared to take that chance or not. Roger

Looks a bit pricy and I was planning to go to Orwell Park, so may give Henley a miss, but we shall have to see. Lots of love Grant xxx
