Hi everyone
Having been away for a few days, Ive only just spotted this thread. I have had to give this quite a lot of thought Having read what each of you have posted so far just confused my thoughts to start with, however, I have managed to reach a conclusion....
I have been fortunate enough to have seen Hayley a good number of times during 2007 and for me the highlights were without doubt - Shepherds Bush for all the reasons that have already been mentioned, mainly though for its uniqueness (if thats a word) and for being invited back stage after the show. Another highlight for me was the BBC Wales recording I attended in June. This was a unique opportunity to see Hayley working rather than performing. We were also treated as special guests by the BBC and spent a good deal of time with Hayley in the green room afterwards.
Other highlights for me were Southampton, where I gave Hayley her Christmas present and was 'ordered' to have my photo taken with her. Also Bath, where after the show, I also had one of those Hayley moments when you hear her say your name A fan asked Hayley if he could have a photo with her but he was obviously alone - I asked him if he would like me to take it for him - with Hayley saying "there you are, let Mark take it for you".
Ok - I'm getting to it i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif My vote has to go to 'other' I'm afraid James, with the best Hayley concert for me being Porthcawl back in June. Why ? Well, although I very much enjoy the company of my HWI friends, at this concert, I was alone. Hayley really seemed to appreciate my support that night, as it was a dull, rainy and very windy evening and Porthcawl felt as though it was on the edge of the world. Thanks to the ladies at the theatre reception desk, Hayley was aware that I was in the audience and after the show, I was able to spend quite a bit of time with her. This was also where Hayley performed 'Sonny' live for the first time (not at the piano), which was a real surprise and I managed to record it ! The audience was fantastic that evening - sufficient for Hayley to perform two encores !! Hayley was really enjoying the audience interaction. Finally, it was at Porthcawl where my favourite photo of Hayley and me was taken (by Ray) .....
Yes, Porthcawl has my vote
Best regards
Mark
