it was so sweet to see him so moved. You are quite right Stephany, Larry was such a sweet guy. I hope he won't mind me repeating something that he said quietly to me before he actually met Hayley. He just looked at me and said "Can you believe? I'm 70 years old and I'm nervous". I reassured him he had nothing at all to be nervous about. I just remembered something else: at the end of the concert, a man - very, very moved - approached the stage and shaked Hayley's hand. He was clearly in awe and even kissed Hayley's hand! She was a bit surprised by it but apparently delighted! Yes Stephany, I'd forgotten that. It worried me for a moment and I think that both Martin and I were ready in case of trouble. Hayley, however, seemed to weigh up the situation quite quickly and no doubt made it a very special moment for him. Lots of Love Grant

Oh, now I remember something else about 'Prayer'. Did you notice at some point Hayley was moving on the stage listening to Fiona & Al's instrumental part and nearly missed the 'Hush...' because she was too far from the microphone Hi Stephany, Yes, I did notice that but I wondered if it might have been deliberate. To say the word "hush" suddenly and slightly abruptly but nonetheless soothingly could be appropriate in certain situations. If it was intentional, I found it very effective. If it was because she nearly forgot to come in, she covered it very well. Which is true, we shall probably never know. Roger

Yup, Grant and I both noticed this as well. It was right at the start of the song and my guess was that at the end of the intro Hayley suddenly realised how far she was from the mike and had to make a sudden dash. Well, she's only human after all! Martin

Hi all! Thanks again for all the reviews. It took a while until I could read them all. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifThey made me almost fell like I was there as well, well ... almost. Thanks Steve and Grant for the pictures and Drew for the videos. They are all stunning! After I read the first reviews and saw the first pictures on Sunday I could hardly sleep last night because of being "hayleywowed". i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Very well done! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI can't wait for Bath now!!! Looking forward to meet many of you there and to meet Jill for the first time. Thomas

- Someone, I think it was Roger, said that Dominic (member of Blake) looked like our very own James. A bit later in the evening, Grant said to me the exact same thing I'll take that as a compliment (I think). Maybe I can also share the stage with Hayley one day? Better go learn the chords to Summer Fly... On the subject of Blake, my overriding memory is the power of Oliver's voice (it must be him by process of elimination as Steven and Jules introduced themselves, and apparently Dominic is my ringer). From the front row, I heard his voice several times over the top of the amplification i.e. straight from the stage.

At the mention of this, Hayley suddenly seemed very thoughtful and said “ah, Southampton, I will be arriving back from Brunei on the morning of the concert”. I didn't ask her why she was in Brunei but I did manage to say that I hoped it wouldn't be too much for her. Hi Mark! Hayley is doing a lot of travelling! It must be very stressful to interrupt her stay in the UK by flying to Burnei (more than half-way to NZ) to come back to the UK again for a few days before heading to NZ. I guess she will appear in Burnei together with Fiona Pears who will perform there on 11th December like you can see on her MYSPACE site. Thomas

To make matters worse, the certain individual previously referred to has appeared and immediately got up this poor fellows nose. He really is an offensive and very rude character While most of us would agree with you Grant, we must remember that this is an open forum and anyone (including those mentioned) could be reading this. However, I did have the misfortune to be stuck in the same waiting room as said individual for the best worst part of an hour having missed my train and hearing him coughing and spluttering away I sincerely hope that Hayley hasn't picked up anything that could affect her voice for the forthcoming concerts. Sorry I didn't have a chance to say goodbye to most of you (but we'll meet again soon) as I had to dash for my train (wish I'd braved the M25 at Bluewater and Dartford now) and hope I didn't miss too much. James

Crikey!! There's so much going on, on this thread, it's hard to keep up! I've spent most of today, errm yesterday, working on my own input, I've hardly had time to respond to anyone else! I love all the reports and pictures; anecdotes and jokes from everybody. I think now, between us, we've just about covered every little detail. It was a very special evening made even more so by the international flavour of HWI representation and the camaraderie that flowed between us. Nice to meet new faces and to see familiar ones again. It was especially good to see Jill again and I hope we made her feel special, in the same way that she and Hayley make us feel special. Thanks everyone, I had a blast! Best wishes Grant

Hi all! Thank you so much for each of you who posted all of the detailed reports and superb photos from the Croydon concert. And I really enjoyed reading Grant's long, much detailed reports and his great photos with descriptions. I also felt great sympathy when reading Mark's heartfelt report and enjoyed it fully. They all made me recall of the precious times I had when Hayley was in my country, and was in front of me, only last month. It is sad that I live too far away from two of her "home countries", but I hope some of our traditional food, which Hayley seems to have regularly, and are well known for their good effect on health would keep her body and voice well.

Hi James, Thanks for sharing the scan of your autographed book. The little Kiwi is so cute! I should probably ask for one as well next time. In Croydon, I was more interested to see if Hayley would remember how my name and more importantly how to write it. Of course she remembered my name - which was great. Then she said...'oooh yes I know, there is something different in the spelling. 'S-T-E....' slight hesitation '...F' ? 'no no no P-H' i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif 'I know there's a 'Y' at the end but I always get the part in the middle wrong' (In Shepherds Bush she also asked me if it was written with a 'F' or 'PH'). Anyway, it was quite funny and she asked me how I was doing so I told her that I had just moved to Manchester and that I was enjoying my time here. We chatted a bit about life in the UK and I also told her how much I enjoyed the concert and especially Danny Boy. Hayley was very lovely as usual I forgot again to say a few words in French but then it might not have been a good idea because I would have been too tempted to mention the rugby Stephany xx

Well done Steve, Grant and everyone. Grant I hope your enforced change of lifestyle won't reduce your HWI input. See you at Southampton next week, hopefully without a "certain individual."
