With so many excellent reports, photos and videos already it is extremely difficult, if not impossible to top them so I won’t!
However, I would like to add a few memories from that wonderful evening, in particular:
- Driving 55 miles to Croydon with Mark without incident but then getting lost within half a mile of Fairfield Halls.
- Meeting old faces and new to form one of the largest HWI gatherings I’ve experienced at a Hayley concert
- Meeting Jill and being almost Jillwowed! What a wonderful, warm and considerate person (I wonder who takes after her?)
- Again experiencing Hayley at her best - and how she has developed this year into the consummate professional at only 20 years of age
- Loving that Hayley “sway” during songs
- Being dumbstruck by her generosity and patience with us all after the concert (so dumbstruck that I referred to Hayley as Hilary on one occasion when talking to Jill (I think Hayleywowness had already set in)
- Being unable to sleep that night because I wanted to relive the concert over and over again
- And finally, feeling proud and privileged to be a member of such a wonderful group of individuals who all have one thing in common - the love and admiration of a unique young lady called Hayley

Steve, your 'green dress' pictures are marvellous. As usual! Thanks for the 'Santa Lucia' video, Drew. Martin, I loved reading your comments - thanks for sharing. More comments from me: - After the interval, I was delighted to see Hayley back wearing the Celtic gown. As you may know, I was a big supporter of the red dress for the 'dress poll n°3' and couldn't understand why the green one was prefered by many members. I changed my mind on Saturday - this dress is gorgeous! Hayley's mum told us later on that it was the expensive gown Hayley mentioned in her book. Jill also said that she loved the red dress i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif- I adored 'Lascia Ch'io Pianga'. Hayley introduced it by saying that it was a very sad song and actually meant 'Let me weep'. She added 'Oh dear' and giggled. Her rendition of the song was fabulous. - I was very impressed by Santa Lucia. Hayley is clearly having a blast when she sings it and the atmosphere around the song is quite festive! Al was accompanying her on the piano. Hayley had to look at Al from time to time to make sure that they were on the same rythm. I really enjoyed listening to this song and wasn't surprised to see Hayley and Al rewarded by a rapturous applause. - Hayley then said that it was almost the end of the concert. The audience, very disappointed: 'Oooooooooh'. Hayley giggled and added that it was time to welcome again on stage Blake. They did a marvellous version of 'O Holy Night'. Their voices blended perfectly. The audience loved it! - Hayley came back for an encore and we were all half-expecting Sonny but for some reason, we didn't get it this time. We had a fabulous surprise instead. Hayley introduced 'Both Sides Now' as being a song of one of her favourite singers, Joni Mitchell. She added that she hadn't sing it for quite a while but was very happy to do so tonight. A great song for a perfect concert ending! - My only little disappointment was that we didn't get to hear 'Let me Lie' which is probably my favourite song with 'Sonny'. But I can't complain too much because we got 15 Hayley songs in Croydon which was really a privilege. I obviously had a smashing time and am already looking forward to seeing Hayley again next week. - Last concert comment. There was a little table behind Hayley where she could take glasses of water. Between two songs, she accidentally hit the table and one glass nearly fell over. Very spontaneously, Hayley said 'Oh gosh!' (I think that was deliberate for Mark ) and then added a funny comment but I can't remember what it was Stephany

Thank you to everyone for making it such a fantastic night, and now it can live on in the photographs and the reports. <3 Caitlin

Stephany wrote Oh Gosh (sorry Hayley) Stephany, do you think she really said that for my benefit i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif I know that I do say that alot now . Unfortunately, I cant remember her funny comment either. There were 4 or 5 glasses of water on that table and did you also notice at one point she picked up the wrong one to take a drink from . Edit - since I posted, Caitlin did remember what she said - very observant Caitlin -thankyou Lots of love Mark

Caite, thank you for remembering the 'joke' Hayley said. Thanks for those pictures, Grant. Your 500th is amazing! I love the one of Hayley with Larry. He was completely 'westenwowed' and it was so sweet to see him so moved. During the signing, he whispered something to Hayley pointing his finger at me - Hayley looked at me and smiled but I have no idea what he said. I can't wait to read his comments on the show but I'm sure he enjoyed it immensely. I just remembered something else: at the end of the concert, a man - very, very moved - approached the stage and shaked Hayley's hand. He was clearly in awe and even kissed Hayley's hand! She was a bit surprised by it but apparently delighted! Stephany

There were 4 or 5 glasses of water on that table and did you also notice at one point she picked up the wrong one to take a drink from . I had forgotten about this but now that you mention this, yes - I do remember clearly that Hayley picked the wrong glass at one point! I don't know why she apologized for drinking between the songs though. Surely no one would be complaining about that Oh, now I remember something else about 'Prayer'. Did you notice at some point Hayley was moving on the stage listening to Fiona & Al's instrumental part and nearly missed the 'Hush...' because she was too far from the microphone Lots of love, Stephany

It makes sense sometimes to let things sink in before you reflect . It was a fantastic night wasn't it - and thanks to you we have the HWI group photo on the stairs - taken by Jill of course. I would also like to thank you Caitlin, along with everyone else for helping to make this such an enjoyable evening. Love & Hugs Mark
