Hi everyone Chris wrote Caitlin being sneaky - surely not I was very much hoping to come along with you to Belgium - but I simply just can not make it after all I'll be thinking about you and where you might be during the day. I really do hope you have a good day and the travel plans all come together Chris. Best wishes Mark

Hi everyone, I'm so sorry, but I won't be able to make it to the Passchendaele concert.... I'm completely tied up in work and I cannot take the day (or even the afternoon) off.... This will be the second time I'm missing out on Hayley. Last year I was supposed to go to one of her concerts in Germany, but as we all know, those were cancelled for unknown reasons. To all those of you who will be attending: enjoy the concert and know that I'll be with you in spirit. And next time I will be there for sure! Peace, Jeroen

Did not know if i should put in this thread or news Hayley Sang abide with me.at the Cemetery in Belguim There has been alot ofcoverage and footage in and around the cemetery and i think the morning service has been filmed so look out for it TV 3 i think.
PM attends two Passchendaele services 5 Oct 2007 05:20a.m.
The Prime Minister Helen Clark attended two services today in Belgium and paid tribute to the endurance and sacrifice of New Zealand soldiers in the grim World War One battles of Passchendaele. The first 35-minute service was at 9.30am at the New Zealand memorial at Graven-stafel and was attended by up to 150 people. The second - a joint service with Australia at the sprawling Tyne Cot Cemetery - was about an hour long and attended by up to 300. At both services wreaths were laid, the ode to fallen read in both Maori and English, the national anthem sung, and the Last Post and Reveille bugled. New Zealander Hayley Westenra sang the hymn Abide With Me at the Tyne Cot Cemetery service.

A detailed report from Chris later.
And maybe a video from Gerald.

Hey everyone! I just got home. Boy was it a long day. I just wanted to get on to say I likely won't be posting until tomorrow night or Saturday. It was a brilliant day! Here's a photo I took to tide you 'till more reports come your way. <3 Caitlin

Hey Caite!
I'm very pleased to hear that you returned safe from your trip to Belgium. It looks as though it was a very moving ceremony. Thank you so much for this gorgeous picture!
Take care, Stephany

Hi all, Just got in, and absolutely knackered. As with Caite, I probably won't be on properly until sometime over the weekend.. but a little teaser for now the start of the evening.. a speech.. a song.. can anyone guess what she's doing here..? from earlier in the day at Tyne Cot Cemetery.. Too tired to say anything else now other than it was an amazing and incredibly emotional day. I had to wipe away the tears twice; once at Tyne Cot during the ceremony when the Last Post was played, and the other when Hayley was singing in the evening.. not her voice, but the words that she sang.. There is so much more to say, but for now, a special thanks to three people; Caite, Gerald and Hayley. You all know why.. G'night all, Chris

Hi Chris,
Intriguing 4th photo!
Do I hear Hayley playing a piano (keyboard?) ... again? The mystery will unfold soon ...
My thoughts are with you after what seems to have been an emotional day for you and many others.
Paddy

Best wishes, StephanyHayley had two TV interviews after the concert. Watch out for these. I don't know if the second interview will show any evidence as to what happened to Hayley immediately after the first TV interview. Suffice to say that Sir Francis Drake was nowhere to be seen. Someone must have some pictures. All that I could do was offer Hayley a rose in sympathy as to her predicament.
