And Stephany : Welcome back from all of us....hope you met Comet during your holiday in Dublin. Graeme Hi Graeme Unfortunately, I didn't see Comet or any of our Irish members. I was hoping to bump into them but I didn't have many chances to do so!! To get back on topic, it's sort of ironic to see Hayley coming near my country just when I leave France. It would have been very easy to go this one Anyway, hope you enjoy the concert, Joyce! I hope Jeroen will be able to go too! Stephany

4 weeks to go!!! to this special concert!!! It looks like more fans from the Netherlands will go there!! I had contact with someone by E-mail, i brought her a signed WSS cd from Sheperd's Bush and she looks very enthusiastic, and wants to go there too! Talking to Hayley at Sheperd's Bush, i asked her about this concert, and she told me she was going to do this one. I will go there with a friend of mine, hope Jeroen will join us, if he is back from his Carribean holiday!!! greetz JOYCE

Hi Joyce! Hope you enjoy your trip and concert in Belgium. I suppose you will take pictures for us but maybe you should try to learn how to post them first? Have fun with your friends! Stephany

Hey all,
I'm thinking of doing this event to both support Hayley and because I'm a kiwi.. If I was to go over, I'd take the car through on the Eurotunnel that morning and come back that night - about 6am from Folkstone to Calais and back late that night which would allow me to be there for the 11am service and stay the day until Hayley in the evening, and then back in England by midnight.
The cost is very cheap at £44 return for the car, and it's less than 90mins from Calais to Passchendaele.
If anyone is interested in joining me, please let me know..
Cheers, Chris

Hi Joyce and others, Yes I am back from my vacation and I had a wonderful time. Perhaps I'll post some pictures one of these days. Anyway, what a nice surprise that Hayley will be doing a concert in Belgium. If I'm not mistaken, this will be her first Belgian solo concert. Zonnebeke is not really close to where I live (probably some 2,5 hours by car), but a Hayley concert is worth the drive. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Tomorrow when I'm back at work I'll have a look at my agenda and see if I can go! Peace, Jeroen

Just to let everyone know, as of last night, Steve Abbott has confirmed that this event is going ahead Roger - I know that you're the official confirmation bunny, but as you're not here right now, I thought I'd jump in

As Hayley's appearance has now been confirmed, I'm going to ramble a little.. From the Official Website: The following articles are interesting reference pieces: www.flanders1917.info/54-October_4_-___039_s_Graventafel.htmwww.flanders1917.info/55-October_12_-_Passchendaele.htmAnd the original news article referring to Hayley's appearance: www.flanders1917.info/43-News-33.htmAccording to both the website and the leaflet that I have for this event, Hayley's mini-concert is free to attend, and all events appear to be open to the public. If anyone is interested in going, I would suggest going over from Folkstone early in the morning, and coming back later that night. It's a 35 minute journey with your car (£44 return) and just under 90mins each way from the other end. Ideally, if you arrive around 10am (local time), that will allow you to find a park and get in for the 11am service, and then spend the day there before attending Hayley's concert that evening. I know that a few people indicated an interest last night; Steve H, Mark, Caitlin, James. If those listed would like to confirm their interest, along with anyone else, then we can start to plan this. Perhaps we can even get two car-loads to go over.. From my point of view, as a Kiwi, as a former serviceman in both the Royal New Zealand Air Force and then the Royal New Zealand Navy Volunteer Reserve.. as a serving member of the Royal Navy Reserve.. as an Iraq veteran.. as the great-grandchild of a WWI soldier who served in Europe, I would consider it an honour to attend this day, and I hope that others through their love of Hayley, and their pride in what both the ANZACs and Allied forces went through so many years ago, would consider attending this day with me. ~Chris

Hi Chris and thanks for the invitation. Unfortunately, living so far up north, it would almost certainly mean two more nights in a hotel somewhere and I really can't afford it right now.
I will be with you all in spirit though.
Best wishes Grant

Well, I've booked the passage over and back, and it's going to be a very long day.
We have to check-in at Folkstone by 0620 (so between 0600 and 0615), leaving at 0650, arriving in Calais for 0825 local time (35mins underwater) which will get us to Passchendaele for around 1000. We'll head to Tyne Cot for the Official ANZAC Commemorative Service which starts at 1100.
Heading back, we're taking the 2250 from Calais, which will mean checking in for around 2200, leaving Belgium by 2030. As Hayley is on between 1830 until around 1930ish, we should be able to make a decision on the Last Post Ceremony or head straight off after seeing Hayley. Either way, we'll be back in the UK for 2230 UK time.
A very long day with travelling time, but I think one that will be very much worth it.. ahh, planning bunny strikes again!
Lunchtime = yay
~Chris
