Hi all! Thank you everybody for your reviews and pictures. It sounds it has been an excellent concert. Needless to say I'm a bit envious not to have been there. Could have suited perfectly to my concert plans. But a few months ago, when it was time to book, my sister and me planned to visit friends in Copenhagen in October and I didn't want to ask my boss again to have also a few days off in December. The week off in Denmark didn't work out in the end but at this point of time it was already to late to book Southampton. The concert was sold out and my flight was already booked for the Saturday to see Hayley in Bath. C'est la vie. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif But Bath was also great. A special thank you James for the great idea of adding a kiwi to the autograph. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI like especially you B&W pictures Stuart. My favorite is the second one you've posted in which Hayley has closed her eyes. Best wishes, Thomas

Well done Stuart and Steve. Hayley's expression on the photos of "Sonny" capture the mood of the song perfectly. Stuart, you're right, camerawork would have been a no-no in row B, even writing notes was !! In truth, it's when people DON'T write about Hayley that she needs to worry ! Yes James, Hayley did make a gag about falling through the stage. What amazes me about her is that she thinks of things that never occur to mere mortals like me. When signing my book she asked me what pen I wanted her to use: biro or felt-tip. She said the felt-tip would go through the page. It never crossed my mind ! Mind you, I never seem to get my thoughts straight when she's in front of me. Glad I didn't win the Classic FM charity dinner with her. I'd have been lost for words !

Hi Stuart
I think your black and white images are absolutely stunning. I agree with Thomas about the second one where Hayley has her eyes closed, but I also like the last one with Hayley singing Sonny because there is such feeling in her face and I can almost sense the pain!
Best wishes Grant

Hi all, Thanks for your great reports & pictures! Lots of very good memories to treasure I think I also need to apologize to James, Grant and Mark for taking them on a ferry ride in the middle of December It was freezing! We had lots of fun in Southampton though. Had a great meal too. The waiter was French and I had a nice talk with him at the end The concert itself was fantastic. The venue was great (Hayley didn't really need a mic!) and we got 'Sonny' 'Danny Boy' is always a real highlight but I must also admit having lots of fun during 'Santa Lucia'. Al Gurr was absolutely awesome on his solo performance and Fiona was great too. It's interesting to see that Hayley also now sings regularly 'Both Sides Now'. It's a fantastic song and the lyrics are very meaningful. I'm loving it! It was great meeting HWI members I didn't know yet (Eugene, Ron, Jeff, Paul...did I miss anyone? ) and seeing again the 'regulars' Hayley was in great spirits after the concert and it was lovely to hear her say a few words in French to me. Thank you for your time, Hayley! ...and for the Kiwi with the beret i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifStephany

Hi all, I think I also need to apologize to James, Grant and Mark for taking them on a ferry ride in the middle of December It was freezing! Hello Stephany and thank you for your report and pictures. There is certainly no need to apologise for the ferry ride! Yes, it was rather bracing, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Just think back though. Remember who actually suggested it? Lots of love Grant

What amazes me about her is that she thinks of things that never occur to mere mortals like me. When signing my book she asked me what pen I wanted her to use: biro or felt-tip. She said the felt-tip would go through the page. It never crossed my mind ! Hi Jeff I noticed your conversation with Hayley about which pen. I guess she's come across all the pitfalls of signing for and posing with fans and clearly thinks carefully how best to do something. I remember in Cardiff, where I asked her to sign a CD insert for a friend and then pose with it. I carefully put the insert back into the case before I handed it to Hayley - who promptly took it out again and held it carefully on top of the case. Of course! The camera flash would have reflected against the plastic and spoiled the picture. What Hayley did resulted in a gorgious print with the words Hayley wrote clearly visible. A very thoughtful young lady! Best wishes Grant

Hi Stephany Many thanks for your report and photos. As Grant says, please don't apologise for wanting to go on the ferry trip, I really enjoyed it despite the cold and at least thats one thing we did where we didn't get lost i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI also approve of your photo. It looks as though Grant caught me at an off moment Stephany's photo Grants Photo Lots of love Mark x

Best wishes Grant As evidenced in Chapter One where she noted, '.. having learned from bitter experience..' that Katherone Jenkins had not thought about the mud when choosing her shoes for a rugby game. She then commented that Katherine's shoes were nice! She diplomatically avoided writing 'but not practical'! Peter S.

Hello everyone These are definitely the very last two from Southampton. Stephany, Mark and James may remember the dock crane silhouetted against a fine sunset as we left the car park. This is what it looked like And one of Stephany, looking a bit warmer after we retired below! Best wishes Grant
