Hello Lothar and Mark! I've moved your posts to this thread and locked the other one to avoid duplication. I'm also going to 'Children Helping Children', and I hope Hayley will sing some songs from her new album 'Treasure'. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif27 days to go! I look forward to seeing you there! Richard

Drew A slight dilemma here - a tie will not go with the HWI sweatshirt (unless you mean the Westenra of Christchurch NZ tartan tie?) Martin

Hi Martin, I shall abandon the sweatshirt on this occasion in favour of the tartan tie. Maybe Hayley won't recognise me looking smart but that is a risk I shall have to take! Roger

Hi Richard & everyone
Thanks for linking the threads Richard. Sorry I missed you off my quick list of who is going to this concert, without looking back through all the pages of the thread, I couldn't remember ! I look forward to seeing you there.
Yes Martin, I was wondering what to wear for this one too. Are sweatshirts too casual then ? Although I still havn't got my HWI sweatshirt yet, I would normally dress "smart casual" for this type of event, which wouldn't normally include a tie. If however, the majority think that ties should be worn, maybe I will just have time to get my Westenra of Christchurch tie from Andrew !!
Best wishes Mark

Best wishes Mark Hi Mark I would think our support of this charitable event (and Hayley) is more important than what we are wearing. I have annoyed my wife many times with my attire when going out so providing we leave the wellies at home I'm sure our other Forum friends will not mind too much what we are wearing. I for one will be proudly wearing my HWI sweatshirt and if others are wearing Tartan ties and shirts then great - it will be a fine representation of Forum member support. Best wishes Martin

Hi Mark and Martin, An HWI sweatshirt is perfectly acceptable attire for Cadogan Hall. I have even worn mine in the Albert Hall! I merely thought I would wear the tie as it is my first opportunity to do so and I have worn the sweatshirt so often that Hayley might think I have nothing else, and we can't have that, can we? Roger

These two posts have been moved from 'Cadogan Hall (Children Helping Children)' which I have locked. Hi all, just now I ordered my ticket for Cadogan Hall - February, 24th.
This possibility is the only one for me to attend a Hayley concert. April, 9th I'm not sure because it could be I have to work. And Telford and Grassington is difficult, because there is no airport.
Who will attend Hayley's concert on February 24th also???
Kind regards, Lothar Hi Lothar
There are a few of us attending this concert, I will be there with my wife and daughter and I know that Steve, Stuart, Roger, Drew and others (sorry if I have forgotton anyone) will also be there. I look forward to meeting you Lothar.
Best regards Mark. Hi Lothar! I won't be there on 24th Feb. but I think about Telford. Even if there's no airport nearby there's usually a chance to take the train. I tried it in December to Sheffield and Cardiff and it worked quite good. A good place to buy the ticket is at www.virgintrains.co.ukYou can collect them later easily at the Fast Ticket Machines at the railway station. The closest airport is Birmingham International. At the moment British Airways has reasonable ticket prices from Duesseldorf for that weekend but they are horrible expensive from Berlin. But from London Euston Station there are train rides via Birmingham to Telford as well. Check the Virgin Trains website for ticket prices. From time to time they have some low fare tickets. No airport, no problem. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif (usually) Hope I wasn't too much off-topic. So, have fun at Cadogan Hall everybody! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifThomas

Hello again folks! I've just clicked on the link provided by Drew again. It would appear that HemiHelp's website has been updated, because I can see no reference to ties, or red carpets:- www.hemihelp.org.uk/help_us_chc.htm Come to a magical musical evening for all the family, at the Children Helping Children concert in aid of HemiHelp on 24 February! HemiHelp’s fourth annual Children Helping Children Concert will feature a guest appearance from multi-platinum selling singer Hayley Westenra (pictured), a reading by Charlotte Ritchie of the classical band All Angels, and HRH Princess Alexandra will be in attendance. Gifted young musicians from the Purcell and Yehudi Menuhin Schools and the Royal College of Music Junior Department, will also be performing, so the concert will be a night to remember. All proceeds from the event will go to HemiHelp, so please come along and give us your support. Tickets start from £10 each, and are available from the Cadogan Hall (020 7730 4500). There are family discounts available, so bring the children along for half price! Can't come?If you can't make it along to the concert but would still like to support us, please consider making a donation to HemiHelp. You can give online by credit or debit card, post a cheque to HemiHelp, Camelford House, 89 Albert Embankment, London SE1 7TP, or donate over the phone by calling 0845 120 3713. Anything you can give will be hugely appreciated, and will go towards helping more children with hemiplegia in 2007. Thank you for your support!
I'm still going to wear my Westenra of Christchurch NZ tartan tie. I've just checked Cadogan Hall's website and there are plenty of good seats still available, so here's the link again:- www.cadoganhall.com/showpage.php?pid=313See you there, Richard

Over-dressed or Under-dressed, I really don't think it matters at Cadogan Hall unless it is a black tie do! I've read that on their publicity the various times I've been there but then, on this occasion I won''t be there if I've got it wrong! I am really feeling left out so, Belinda, I'm experiencing your sense of 'in the doldroms' at missing Hayley!

I'm still going to wear my Westenra of Christchurch NZ tartan tie. What I'm waiting for, Richard, is seeing Andrew in his 'Westenra of Christchurch NZ tartan kilt'! Now that gives me a thought. Some members have mentioned here that if they won the lottery they would want to host a party for all HWIers who could make it but obviously ensuring Hayley could as it would be in her honour, perhaps paying her her professional fee to provide the cabaret act. I think if I won the lottery (with Andrew's agreement, of course) I'd order a 'Westenra of Christchurch NZ tartan' dress for her, to go with the sash Andrew has already given her. Of course--long after that thought--it does occur to me I would need her measurements to ensure it fitted, as she obviously would not have the time for fittings! But then, I suppose we would have to wait for someone else to win the lottery so we could afford the party to invite her to attend wearing it! Peter S.

Hello again everybody! I've just checked Cadogan Hall's website again. Most of the best seats have gone now, but there are some fairly good seats still available towards the rear of the stalls, and a few seats in the front two rows, so I'm hoping this concert will be a sell-out. Click on the link in the previous post to book. Two weeks to go!! See you there, Richard

I've just checked Cadogan Hall's website again. Most of the best seats have gone now Just received call from Cadogan Hall and asked to give up my seats in the front row to someone more important. Staff photographers, are you next? Richard, I said that it was red carpet.

Hi Drew, I received a similar call about three days ago. I was told they needed to vacate the whole of the front row for "security reasons". When I asked if there was any cause for concern, I was told it had nothing to do with the performers but the attendees! Is it you or me, I wonder? Roger
