The weather is clear here in Chicago, at least for the next few days. hopefully neither Hayley nor Libby will have trouble flying out.

My husband and I like the looks of The Old Fashioned, which is very reasonable in price and also only two blocks from the theater. Website is theoldfashioned.com if anyone wants to look at their menus.

Hi all, Alicia is planning to meet my husband and me for dinner before the show on Friday night. I'm not sure who is going to be around for that one, but perhaps we could find a restaurant close to the venue that would be amenable to all of us. We have general admission seating as well, so an early dinner around 5 p.m. would probably be best. Melody

I just booked our hotel at the Super 8 Madison South. Since we have a car we decided to go for a hotel farther away from the venue with better prices. It had good reviews so we decided to go for it. I'm not sure when exactly we are going to get to Madison, but I'm sure we'll see people before the concert.

Buffalo is about a 14 hour drive from Madison. Also if anyone is worried about that sort of thing happening in Madison, they shouldn't, because it's not close enough to Lake Michigan to get that kind of lake effect snow.

We're waiting to book a hotel until we can both sit down at the computer and figure out what works the best for us. We're both very busy people so that's a hard thing to coordinate. My guess is we'll stay wherever is cheapest.

I'm planning to drive up on Friday with my husband, as I normally have Fridays off, so that's better than changing my work schedule. It's only 200km from where I live so it'll be a pretty easy drive. We'll stay the night in a hotel and then head back Saturday. As for the weather concerns, it is possible that there could be a horrid storm that would cancel flights, but believe it or not, most snow doesn't really come until January. So there will be some snow probably, but storms that would ground air travel and eliminate the possibility of getting to the concert.... I just don't see that happening. Additionally, Madison is far enough away from Lake Michigan that it wouldn't really get lake effect snow. That doesn't mean it won't be cold though! Definitely temps around freezing at that time of year. If there are any other questions I'd be happy to answer. Also, snow removal is much more efficient up north than down south. We need at least a good foot of snow before things start to shut down.

I just bought two tickets. I paid a $6 service charge for each ticket so the total was $82. The website is etix.com

How did you buy tickets already? It says they aren't available until the 20th. Also do you mind sharing how much the general admission tickets are?

I also may be able to let a couple people hitch a ride from chicago if the hubby approves. That might be easier to fly into than Madison
