W.O.W.! I was having a pretty bad day and was upset, and then I saw this shared by Hayley and I couldn't believe my eyess!!! I instantly clicked it and then my heart melted! This was such an amazing and pleasant surprise!!! I wasn't expecting it at all! I really like how she mentions "New beginnings", New beginnings!! That's amazing, to hear her say that, must clear doubts of so many! Things have just kickstarted, and we've all just strapped ourselves onto a new journey that will go on for many more years!! And to see Hayley create a new Youtube account with a video like this is very promising that she's likely to keep this thing going, posting unofficial videos, acoustic singing and stuff, clearly she wants to be come the more social person and connect better with the audience. But now this youtube account needs more publicity, I think if HWI hasn't already shared the video, a video share with an important mention of "SUBSCRIBE" would make a great difference in getting out Hayley's new material, and publicizing them right before the album's big release. I can't wait for everything, this is thoroughly exciting!

Hey Martin! That was lovely, I listened to her "Lascia Chio pianga" and couple of others too. She's got a lovely voice, love the way she accesses her higher registers, reminds me of Hayley. (The technique I mean), but with that said, I don't see an 'opera' singer. She'd turn out to be a fine classical crossover/folk singer, it doesn't appear like she wants to be traditionally 'operatic', she seems to focus on the notes sound cleaner and prettier, and not much on the technique and projection. Not enough support and projection, or control over her vibrato, it's non existent at some parts as well. The term opera, I think is more often misguided and associated with classical crossover singers, so much that I'm not sure if she really means it when she says she wants to be an opera singer. Ofcourse if that's what she really wants, with immense training, she could achieve it. She's got a naturally great tone, a gift. Those pristine high notes would have sounded great live in those acoustics

Yes Libby, Vocal dynamics can make the world of a difference, Listen to this youtu.be/hqBwe9BCj4A?t=1m56s Opera at its finest, Mozart's queen of the night Aria is one of the most difficult arias ever, and not many have even attempted to sing it. The link plays from exactly 1m 56s, The thing about opera is that, it's not everyone's cup of tea, But whenever I show people this clip, even the crazy metal fan has his jaw dropped on the floor, whether they like it or not, the talent is undeniable in cases like this. That is the power of real opera, it's unbelievable how so much control can be exercised in the vocals. Even Hayley is not trained enough to attempt this piece. So it's just that this girl Laura seems to have the right foundation and potential to hopefully work into something great, (even if like you said it maybe unpleasant to the ears right now), of course if she takes the right path, and has learning and mastering as top priority. But as far as young opera singers go, this girl Amira Willighagen, who appeared on Holland's got talent, I think it was shared here as well, www.youtube.com/watch?v=66-A2MyVDbU...at 9 years old...My goodness. She was so exquisite that Andre Rieu invited her to perform with him. Do listen to it, it's quite something. And thanks for the stats! I wasn't aware of that, but good to know! haha. Hopefully this guy wins it this time www.youtube.com/watch?v=iokOJVtwrck, Jon Dorenbos(Magician). He's quite amazing. But there was a Rubix cube guy who was equally stunning....but didn't make it through to the live shows

I have to disagree, I thought the performance really picked up only after half way through "Sogna mondo, senza pyuuu...", I'm not sure if I 'like' a very operatic version of this song, Liked the original with Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion, where the female vocals were pop, the song was designed to have an operatic male and pop female vocal. But that aside, I could just focus on her singing and forget the song, when she got to that bit, she was incredibly good, unlike say Jackie Evancho, who has a fake and forced operatic sound, let alone Katherine Jenkins. The latter are not opera singers, and neither is Sarah Brightman, not even close. This girl has great projection and support, that's necessary to grow up to be a real opera singer. She's amazing for a 13 year old. Her Nessun Dorma for the auditions was brilliant. Ofcourse she has a lot to learn, and this performance may not have been very pleasant to the ears like you said, and even I don't think this 'style' is very suited for this song. But this is one of the very few times a person with real operatic potential comes on these shows, almost all of the rest are trying too hard. The waveryness you're talking about is a very well supported vibrato, that's got amazing quality and consistency, considering her age. But what she needs to learn is vocal dynamics, that is to control volume and intensity... A lot of those notes could have been lighter, especially the high ones, because now she belted them out, (which is not easy at that range either).....
But with that said, I don't think she should win, I don't think any of the singers should ever win in a show with other kinds of talents involved (unless it's something absolutely breathtaking, which is not possible when put up against some of the INCREDIBLE non singing stuff that they do)...There were SO many magic tricks and other entertainment which deserved to get through, and win, stuff that I can never imagine to be possible on live television, and yup they do it, everytime, only to be dismissed by singers who end up winning most of the time...Sad.

Actually all that made perfect sense! And that's a very professional way of singing along!, Too high? Sing the lower harmonies, too low, sing the higher harmonies, so that it sits comfortably withing your range. Taking notes from the instruments is a great thing too, I can see you have a natural gift to harmonize, to do it without notes and by ear. Were you an alto in your choir?

I especially liked the way you sang "I pray that you're near" in the middle. You seemed to get especially strong towards the end, too. Thank you very much! nice that you noticed it, I thought that small change in tune would build it better to the instrumental bridge with those aahs And Tsubomi, You were able to hit the low notes in the same octave? Those are impressive notes for a girl! If you feel that you can hit those high notes on some days and not on others, I think you should be able to get it back quickly by doing some warmup exercises, like the lip trills (the best), saves you on your worst days haha. Oh and I love One find day, it's got a very interesting melody.

Thank you so much Libby and Martin! Glad you guys like it And Libby, you're right! I just listened to it again, and the piano is indeed drowning the vocals....So I redid the mix with lower piano volume and uploaded again, you can get to it through a link in the description of the video as I can't post the link here. What do you think? Is it better now? And for my next cover, I'm working on Listen to the wind One of my all time favourites! She should perform it live sometime atleast as a tribute to James Horner.

Hey Libby! Here I am replying a year later XD, those 3 are brilliant choices, love all of them. I'd go for, Let me lie, Summer Rain, and Across the universe of time. : D And guys! I recently did a cover of Hayley's TSUBOMI (Buds) from her album Hayley sings Japanese songs II. Hope you guys like it! It's quite a challenging song, the entire song spans 2 octaves, Hayley makes it look so easy, but only when we sing it do we know the actual range! I also have a cover of "Who will echo my heart?" on my Youtube channel, will post it here when once it's okay to Moderators, small favour, can y'all change the title to "Simba's Hayley covers" Looks like I'll be doing a lot of them Thank you!

I have a feeling we know more than one song that's going to be in the next album, my guess
1. Who will Echo my Heart? 2. Greener Lands 3. Black is the colour (this one has to be in it!) 4. Here, there and everywhere (maybe, seems to just fit in) 5. Close to you 6. Over the rainbow (about time I guess) 7. Bridge over troubled water (Orchestral version)

Yes Jillian! I was feeling bad that you missed your chance listening to it and was going to email you the video (which I had downloaded from youtube beforehand, foreseeing a takedown), because that one song is enough to clear all our doubts, like I said it's an ambitious song, signalling a very ambitious album. When I heard that song I just saw Hayley rising out of the ashes like a Phoenix, reborn. After a 1000 listens, I can strongly say that VERY few songs that I've heard in my lifetime have such an EPIC quality to it, and no other, Hayley song even, comes close to the sheer scale of this one. And in 2016 when popular music is literally garbage, and we don't hear distinct tunes and melodies anymore, this was a breath of fresh air. A very clear tune that's not just interesting at the chorus. I was able to sing the entire song after just 3 listens. I hope we get proper live versions of this song before the album gets released, I just want to watch her sing this!

Hmmm, I understand why it would be debatable if the new material in concern is in the form of studio recordings or album leaks. But aren't fan recordings of live concerts understood to spread? She's performing this song for the second time now, any artist would know it's likely to be recorded and shared there after. I just don't understand what the complication is, but whatever it is I'm sure you guys will come to the best conclusion.

OH MY GOODNESS.... If this is what we've been waiting for all these years, I don't mind waiting more! That song was PERFECT! Im sure once it's released it'll be my favourite Hayley song ever!! Brilliant tune, lovely orchestration, but overall, Mind blowing vocals!! Before, Hayley's music may not have been everyone's cup of tea, but that song, that ONE SONG can rule the world. Those high belted out notes, and the triumphant music can blow all contemporary big songs out of water, Titanium, Chandelier and the likes! This song is nothing like Hayley's ever done before and every bit Hayley at the same time! Seems like a very ambitious album from the vibes of it! Hayley's definitely planning a breakthrough I'm sure, and it's great that she's not shying away from big notes. It's one thing to choose not to sing high notes in a song, but it's a different thing to have big notes while writing music itself. That shows Hayley's confidence in her vocals. This should be released as a single with an awesome video! I'm sooo excittedd and Happy for hayley! Oh and the video, why is it Unlisted? It should be made public! (or the uploader might be waiting to upload more songs?)

Oh the title doesn't mention, this is that competition show where she has a sing off with May J (Japanese singer), and she sings Amazing Grace hitting those high noteees...
