Hi Gerrit, Thank you for posting such a cool little video, please thank Csoda also! Dare me say parents around the world just got an easier job putting their kids to sleep i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifGlad to know people enjoyed the Pyramids concert I have a good news, Andrea's "Amore Under the Desert Sky" concert was broadcasted on detroit PBS last night and I had it recorded. Like Susan said in another thread, it's a wonderful concert with several new songs not found on the album. Interesting to see Andrea in his first "pop" concert. Allen

Haha, interesting observation about the temperature Gerrit! It's impossible (pardon the pun)!! There was an interview of Andrea on CTV news last night and guess what they were talking about? Singing in cold weather in Italy i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifVicki: I thought Italy was always warm. Andrea: No, not very much, probably much more than in Canada. But for us, as you see, I have my scarf, because for us, it's cold enough.
Vicki: How is it singing in the freezing cold? Andrea: No problem because when you're singing, you're very concentrated.
(clip of Andrea performing Because We Believe)
Vicki: So, you're doing at the closing ceremony a song written by two Canadians. Andrea: Yea, in two days for the closing ceremonyy, and I'll perform Because We Believe, this song that we, me and David Foster, we have written just for the athletes for the olympics games.
Vicki: You and he have worked together a few times. Andrea: Yes. Vicki: He's a good guy, isn't he? Andrea: Yeah.
Vicki: You're pretty busy, aren't you? I mean you're popular, crazy popular. Andrea: The problem is that when you work so much, and you know the word you have to lose something. It's impossible to have everything.
Vicki: Congradulations on your platinum album. Andrea: Thank you very much. Vicki: Nice to see you Andrea. I do have a video clip of the interview by Vicki Gabereau, host of a local talk show. Msg me if anyone is interested Allen

Hi all, I've record couple of Andrea Bocelli TV appearances over the weekend, including one from NBA all-star game and the "at the Pyramids" special. Anyone interested? The problem is, there was audio problems with my TV reception during the NBA game so there was quite a bit of distortion in parts of the performance... Wondering how Gerrit managed to squeeze the entire Gotta Skate V show into 100M, that seems so impossible Allen

Hi all, Just noticed there's a 4.5 minutes promo/making of video feature on amazon.com's product page for Andrea Bocelli's Amore album. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CC1TGA/Good documentary, with samples from several tracks off the album. Definitely worth checking out. So far, my favourite track on the album is still Pero Te Extrano  Dave, I'll be uploading the mpg file later today. Allen

Thanks Dave. I noticed the sound interruption problem from the video too. Not sure whether it came from the original broadcast or problem during transmission from the cable company. Unfortunately I decided to make the switch from analog cable to digital cable just minutes before the performance so the cable box was probably downloading data in the background and caused the problem. Guess it's a small price to pay for cleaner video. I have a higher quality svcd (b-i-g 100M file) for those who are interested i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifToo bad the show won't be shown again til March on CBC Hopefully the audio will be perfect and we can find the missing 0.2 seconds!! Oh no... what have you done Dave? You actually found a song that managed to kick Hayley's "Listen to the Wind" off my playlist! Nevertheless, you did a great job with the audio edit, without the original video, I can't even tell where the edit was! "Vivo Pei Lei" has always been one of my favourite Andrea Bocelli songs, now with Hayley's exclusive English version being the best one!! It's so beautiful, wonder if Jamie and David used it for their wedding? Any news on whether there's plan for a studio recording for the song? Allen

Hi Gerrit and Dave, Didn't know his album is coming out at the end of the month. So far we heard 3 songs from the album during the Gotta Skate special, looks like we have another chart topping album! It's already at #254 on amazon.com's sales rank. Interesting selection of songs, seems to be more "pop" than his older albums. I do notice there's a duet with Christina Aguilera, certainly very different from his usual choice of collaboration partners. Edit: looks like this is the reason: Recorded late in the summer at Bocelli’s Tuscan home studio overlooking the coast, the album exudes the natural beauty and breathtaking surroundings evident in Italy. Amore marks the only album David Foster has made outside of his Californian studio complex in two decades. This was also most musically gratifying to date for Andrea; Allen

Four of them feature "Helena" ( ) in L'abitudine in various versions. Hi Gerrit, I believe her full name is "Helèna Hellwig" but she was referred to as Helena on Andrea's CD. The performances from Last Night of the Proms are very nice, thanks! The english translation is very helpful BTW, for the record, "WMA 2002" = World Music Awards 2002. I had to limit the file name to less than 65 characters on CDR. Allen

- Because We Believe - Besame Mucho - Can't Help Falling in Love
It's been confirmed by the host that Andrea will be back on the 24th.
P.S. I'm encoding the videos now, will upload the videos to Gerrit later today.

Hi Dave, I got the Amore album and it's very good almost as good as his Toscana album. My favourite tracks on the album are "pero te extrano" and "ama credi e vai". Thanks for the heads up on the TV appearances, didn't know he's on Today Show tomorrow. Looks like he's going to perform at least 1 song edit: forgot to mention, for those in Canada, Bravo will be showing an Andrea Bocelli concert from 2003 next week. Allen

Thanks for going through all the trouble posting the photos Dave! Looks like Hayley really enjoyed herself touring with Il Divo and she looked great in that blue dress. Dave should be given second title of "Official HWI Spy Photographer" i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifAllen

Il Divo serves up schmaltz and eye candy
By GENE STOUT P-I POP MUSIC CRITIC
Four handsome lads in sharp suits. Irresistibly catchy songs. Swooning females.
The Beatles? Hardly. Il Divo, the pop-opera group created by insolent "American Idol" judge Simon Cowell, nevertheless has plenty of box office appeal.
The multinational foursome -- American David Miller, Frenchman Sebastien Izambard, Spaniard Carlos Marin and Swiss Urs Buhler -- finally made it to Seattle Wednesday night after selling umpteen million albums worldwide.
There was plenty of schlock in the group's cruise-ship spectacular at Benaroya Hall, but there was no denying the power of four soaring male voices to energize a devoted, mostly female crowd.
Flanked by a five-piece rock band and 20-member orchestra, this Menudo for matrons entered the stage via a grand staircase topped with faux-marble Greco-Roman columns. The quartet's stilted, between-song patter smacked of the Rat Pack era, but when the foursome fired up its pipes, the Caruso-like sound brought cheers from over-eager fans.
The singers varied in quality and demeanor. Carlos, the square-jawed baritone with the curiously cocked eyebrow, had the darkest tan and most spectacular voice, while the ever-modest David had the warmest vocal tone. The sexy Sebastien garnered the most flowers and female attention, but his voice was unremarkable. Urs, the grinning, long-haired tenor, was the most charming of all, with a voice that nicely complemented the others.
The group's repertoire featured such feel-good songs as "All by Myself" and Toni Braxton's "Unbreak My Heart (Regresa a Mi)." Most songs began with a solo, followed by a rafter-rattling four-voice crescendo. Though mostly cover songs, the set list featured an Il Divo original, "I Believe (Je Crois en Toi)," recorded with Celine Dion for the group's current, hot-selling album, "Ancora."
"Mama," a song calculated to cause mayhem among older females, was dedicated to all the mothers in the house, because without them, the quartet said, "We would not be here tonight."
Nearly swarmed by flower-bearing females at either side of the stage during the encore, Il Divo finished off its show with an overwrought "My Way (A Mi Manera)," the evening's ultimate crowd-pleaser.
Opening the concert was New Zealand singer and classical crossover artist Hayley Westenra. Her soaring voice was lovely on "Amazing Grace," "May It Be" (from "Lord of the Rings") and "Both Sides Now." Allen

Opening act Hayley Westenra comes off more fully authentic. Her taste for Irish ballads and 1960s folk-pop can't be faulted (even if the choices are obvious), but neither can her spotless voice. No matter what she sings, the primary feeling expressed is one of breeze-kissed optimism. She'd be murder on the blues. Perhaps, the living really is easier in her native New Zealand. Looks like Mr. Dollar likes Hayley's performance more then Il Divo's, that's a very good sign.. when she decides to have her solo tour in North America i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifMaybe next time, she'll have Il Divo opening for her Allen
