Well, there ARE singers that don't make me cringe when they cover a Hayley song. People like Rebecca Newman and Siobhan Owen. I'm afraid Jackie isn't one of them.

This is far and away my favourite track on Odyssey. The way Hayley uses her voice is just stunning.

You ought to give the film a watch Libby. I didn't think I liked Les Mis but I changed my mind. The film is superb. A tale of a low life criminal who was turned into a good person. And as someone who once lived in Paris, and knows something of the history of that city, having visited some of its many museums, I find it very powerful and moving. Nowadays one of my favourite musicals, along with West Side Story and The Sound of Music.

Went over to Bath last Thursday evening to see Rebecca. She was taking part in a charity concert in St John the Baptist church, Bathwick. Also appearing were the Bath Chorus, an excellent choir who I seem to remember supported Hayley at a Christmas concert she did in Bath a few years ago. I recognised some of the faces that appeared on the videos I made of Hayley's performances. As well as getting to chat to Rebecca during the interval, I also met her husband Jay, and her lovely little labrador puppy Samson, who were hanging around outside the church before the concert. She told us a bit about her nationwide tour with Russell Watson, 53 concerts I think she said. I have tickets for one of the two that are in Leicester. She told me that on the tour, she only gets to sing two songs and a duet with Russell, and it was nice to be able to sing a lot more than that at Bath. All in all, a very enjoyable evening, and I can tell you that just as Hayley does, Rebecca sounds much better live than on record.

Here's another one. I remember the jungle if not the advert. There was a UK version of this too I remember.

Hello Libby! I think it's P for Pal. She's in several of the twins' photos and her name is Rachel. Richard Which fits with the dog theme (Pal is a dog food brand). That is a pic of a dog on the wall behind them isn't it? Martin D

No doubt those shapes were for the dogs. (Shapes is a brand of dog biscuit). Martin D

Forgive my ignorance - who is Mandy Moore? Come to think of it Hayley is the only one of those names I recognise....

Well, I'm only 40 miles away from them and it seems to be a strange definition of hot. I don't call 19.7C, todays and this year's highest temperature "hot". Warm perhaps.

Yes Jeff, absolutely spot on. There is a long list of artists who have done well in TV talent shows who are hardly ever heard of again. More and more artists these days are going independent, and I don't blame them. Especially since Rebecca Newman has shown how you can be successful and even get to No. 1 in the chart without a record deal.
