Hello folks! I'd better clarify my meaning. It's an easy decision for me to vote for Hayley, but it's difficult not to vote for All Angels. I hope it will be a fair result for everybody. I think this thread should be stickied until after the event, so I've done it. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifRichard

It may be helpful for recently joined members to know that Hayley has never won the "best album" award but has we think come very close on the two previous occasions she has been entered. First, in 2004 when Pure was entered, Bryn Terfel won and that was a suprise because Pure out-sold his album Bryn by a long way (by about 140,000 in 2003 and more by the time of the awards). The Welsh vote probably won it for him (obviously, there is no equivalent "Kiwi vote" in the UK). Second, Odyssey was beaten by a Katherine Jenkins album in 2006 by the narrowest of margins (we know it was less than 1%) and Katherine won that year for the second time (Hayley couldn't enter in 2005). So this will be fifth Classical Brits since Hayley was first eligible, she is by far the "biggest name" (longest established) among this year's contenders apart from Ludovico Einaudi. Yes I know, this is called the "best album" award but let's be honest here, most people just vote for their favourite performer(s) or whoever they think is the "best" or "most deserving" for the award, out of those entered. In my opinion it is a travesty of justice that five years after her first Classical Brits, Hayley has not yet won this award. She is by far the most deserving from this year's list (apart from Einaudi who is too "specialist" to ever win it) and it would be just plain wrong if any of the newcomers won this award before Hayley won it (and I say this as an All Angels fan too). The winner will come from the top 5 best selling eligible albums of 2007 (the rest have no chance): 1 Fron Male Voice Choir - Voices of the Valley - Encore ( 212,000 ) [Welsh Vote & hundreds of family/friends too] 2 Royal Scots Dragoon Guards - Spirit of the Glen ( 204,000 ) [Scottish Vote & hundreds of family/friends too] 3 Blake - Blake ( 85,000 ) [don't think they can win] 4. Hayley Westenra - Treasure ( 75,000 ) [mainly UK fan base votes, overseas cannot can vote] 5 All Angels - Into Paradise ( 54,000 ) [school/college votes] Most people will not be voting for the "Best Album" but for who they want to win. But who is the most deserving winner among this year's candidates? I suggest that by far and away it is Hayley - after five years it's about time she won! So forget the rest and let's make it happen!Dave

Ludovico Einaudi - Divenire I hope Ludovico comes to the Classical Brits 08 to perform. I'd be totally over the moon... Stephany
