Hello again everybody! I attended the Classical Brit Awards for the first time last year and thoroughly enjoyed the show, so I'll definitely be going again next year. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifRichard

Hello again folks! Here's the link to watch: tickets.royalalberthall.com/season/performances.aspx?monthyear=5-2008When the tickets go on sale, the show will appear on the list. It might be worth keeping an eye on April and June too, in case the date changes significantly from previous years. Just change the month in the box. Best Wishes, Richard

Hello everyone,
I have now completed my sales estimates for 2008 (well upto Christmas, so 97% of it) and I've extracted what I think are the best selling "new" artist albums of 2007. I could obviously have missed one but I hope not. Here they are in order:
1 Voices of the Valley - Encore - Fron Male Voice Choir 2 Spirit of the Glen - Royal Scots Dragoon Guards 3 Blake - Blake 4 Treasure - Hayley Westenra 5 Into Paradise - All Angels 6 The Carols Album - The Choirboys 7 Cortes - Gardar Thor Cortes 8 Onward - Alfie Boe 9 Divenire - Ludovici Einaudi 10 La Passione - Alfie Boe 11 Amour - Natasha Marsh
So my prediction - if the same rules as last year are applied - is that the top 10 of the above albums will be nominated for "Album of the Year" at the Classical Brits 2008. Natasha Marsh may miss out because Alfie Boe released two new albums during the year. We shall see.
I cannot find any confirmed details yet about when and where the 2008 Classical Brits will be held but Royal Albert Hall London in the first half of May is, of course, favourite.

I have attended the Classicial Brits a few times even though I was unable to go last year.
I will be there this year.
It is such a fantastic night that it does not matter to me who is there, of course it is always better if there is a performer who you love to listen to.
One of my fav performances was by James Galway a couple years ago, I have loved listening to him for years and had never seen him play live, my daughter learned to play the flute at school(sadly she gave it up) So hope to see a few of you there.

So hope to see a few of you there. Hi Mary, I think you may find more than a few of us there. It is a hugely popular event with so many of our UK members and even some from mainland Europe. As soon as we know the exact date, I hope a lot of members will indicate their intention to come. Roger

Hi Everyone, In the March edition of Classic FM magazine it says that this years Classical Brit Awards are being held on Thursday 8th May at the Royal Albert Hall. It says to visit www.royalalberthall.com/ or call 020 7589 8212 for tickets. Unfortunately I am not sure if I will be able to make this date, however I am in London two days later so I will see if I can extend my trip somehow. It's getting the time off that is the problem. Hi Dazza, Thank you for the alert. Unfortunately it also means that Katherine Jenkins won't be attending because she has a 'Viva la Diva' show in Sheffield on the same day. Having said that, I will definitely attend the Classical Brit Awards 08. Dazza, I hope you can make it as it is certainly an event not too miss. Stephany

Hi everyone Thanks for the info Dazza. I've had a look at the website (RAH) and there is still no mention of the event. It may be worth ringing the box office now in anycase to see if tickets are on sale. Its great to hear that you can come Stephany and Caitlin - only just though Caitlin I should be able to make it Look forward to seeing you there. Mark

Hi Mark and Caitlin, Glad to hear you can make it. I hope Ludovico Einaudi will be there as well. Seeing him perform at the Royal Albert Hall would be incredible. Quick question: is it possible to go on foot from Gloucester Road (or Earls Court) to the RAH? Because I'm trying to find a place to stay which wouldn't be too far from the venue and there are plenty of nice hotels around these two stations. Thanks, Stephany

I believe Gloucester Road is the closest station to the RAH and it doesn't look very far on the map. Richard would be the best one to advise walking times but I wouldn't think it would take many minutes. There may well be an escort available! Lots of love Grant

Thanks for the tip-off, Dazza. Thursday May 8th is exactly when I expected it to be.
Stephany, the nearest tube station to the venue is South Kensington. From there, it is about a ten minute walk (perhaps less) up Exhibition Road.
