This post and five replies have been moved to this thread by Richard....This may have already been said, but, taking into consideration that a few of Ennio Morricone's movies/music have a 'western' theme and are familiar to many Americans (i.e. all the "Spaghetti Westerns"), I think if the Maestro or his works were promoted or 'advertised,' for lack of better word, alongside Hayley's Paradiso the attention of many would be brought to not only Morricone but also Hayley. ... That is an awesome idea! They could even give Paradiso the moniker "Spaghetti Westenra"! I still contend that even though some of us may remember the spaghetti westerns that the majority of Americans are either too young to remember them and the ones that are old enough don't have a clue who Morricone is. For example, and I'll pick an easy one, who scored the very popular Pink Panther films with Peter Sellars? How about Star Wars? No fair googeling. Larry

Heres one for you Chantelle.Who was the original Nellie Forbush in the first Broadway production of South Pacific? And who scored the musical? Bonus points if you know the year it debuted. Larry

You might want to give the whippersnappers credit for some integrity as well... I even know the difference between Elmer Bernstein and Leonard Bernstein without looking them up.

Re connection problems, You may have noticed I was logging in an out like a YoYo I was going to use another phrase, but that would have been impolite 4 days of messing around, a new hub or "Switch" as they are now called. (what kind of lunatic decided to call an ethernet hub a "switch" Now that's just asking to cause confusion.) I now have two internet service providers and a spare hub or "Swich" and a load of RJ45 Patch cables including a couple of "Cross wired" ones. hummmmmmmmmmm, might use them for tying up plants in the garden.. and the problem was a single gold contact on an RJ45 connector. these little contacts simply pierce the wire, not the most reliable way to make a connection. Victorian houses were not designed with the internet in mind, the cable runs through a three foot brick chimney breast, under floors, through the bathroom and into the attic to a distribution hub. I left some old three quarter inch copper pipe in place when we did some re-plumbing, makes a nifty ready made conduit for running cables through, It is a bit difficult to get more than two of the ready made RJ45 cables through though as the plugs are pre-fitted and quite bulky

Hello Paul! If you played the cello, you'd be like Yo-Yo Ma. He has his ups and downs too! Richard

Actually Paul, a hub and a switch are different things. As are routers. Hubs are pretty dumb, and send all the messages they recieve to all connected computers. Switches are more selective, and send messages only to the nodes they are intended for (thus improving performance on busy networks). Hubs and routers are used to connect computers that are on the same network. Routers are used where you need to connect between different networks.

Hi all I wasn't sure where to put this,...today I received a lot of birthday cards- way more than I was expecting- but I got quite a shock when I read one which had 'Happy 91th Birthday!!!' printed on it!! No-one in my family noticed until I showed it to them several times!!! It was meant to say Happy 19th birthday- I'm not that old yet haha!! :2fun: Not only that but even if it was 91 it shouldn't have 'th' on the end of it! I've never seen anything like it!!! I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience? It still makes me laugh now thinking about it haha! best wishes Sing
