Well, I quite enjoy Marmite although it is not a staple part of by diet (unlike chilli sauce). WOW! did you get a look at Hayley in that dress though! The earlier video clips I saw only showed Hayley's head and shoulders, so not much clue what her dress was like. But I thought she looked STUNNING when I saw the whole of that dress! Streets ahead of and much classier than any og the other females I saw there. We are used to Hayley being a treat for the ears, but this time she was a treat for the eyes. She needs to repeat that at the Classical Brits since she is not performing. Last year she blew us away with her performance (of a song I think was improved upon for the Valentines Tour). This year, with a dress like that, she will perhaps for the first time steal the show in a completely different way. Good on yer Hayley, and I hope you do. Martin Hi Martin, You're right -- it looks slightly different on film than in photograph. It's much more of a lilac colour and you can better see the beautiful detailing around the bodice. I think that it definitely rates as my favourite ever dress of Hayley's! So Hayley's drawing pictures to put on the walls of her flat? Does Hayley have talent as an artist -- or is she just doing for a bit of fun? I wonder if she's like my housemate -- he insisted on painting these hideous artworks and then putting them on the walls! It then turned into a game where the rest of the house tried to hide them when he wasn't looking! I wonder if Hayley is ever going to pull out the guitar for one of her concerts? If she's song writing on her guitar, you never know....

Thanks Karsten If anyone is unable to see it on this date then there will be a good chance that it will be available on ITV Player but I believe you will need Microsoft Silverlight to view it. This is a web browser plug-in for enhanced graphics and can be easily downloaded. (Typical Microsoft dictat! ) Best wishes Martin

If there is anyone out there who wants to go to the Classical Brits, but hasn't got a ticket:
I've just been called out of town as of the end of the week, so won't be able to make it. Grr. Not happy at all!
The ticket is for Door 9, Stalls L, Row 1, Seat 79
Any takers, send me a PM or email me at chris@chris-wilson.org
Cheers,
Chris

Hi Larry and Richard The first time I tried it I just scooped a spoonful out of the jar. It might be better on something or with some other food. Oh no Larry! Even I couldn't do that! Best spread thinly on hot buttered toast If anybody brings Marmite sandwiches to the Classical Brit Awards they will be confiscated by Hayley! I will be happy to let Hayley confiscate my Marmite sandwiches at the Classical Brit Awards, but she will have to do it before the show as I'm only planning to come down for the photo call! Best wishes Grant

Hi Jillian I wonder if Hayley is ever going to pull out the guitar for one of her concerts? If she's song writing on her guitar, you never know.... This is something that a lot of us been wondering about and hoping for. Personally, I think it's only a matter of time. We had to wait a long time for Hayley to play keyboard - but it happened and it has proved to be very popular. Like Sonny, it may just be a case of waiting for the right song. Best wishes Grant

Hi Roger A very interesting "click"! One question though - does Hayley use fingerstyle or a plectrum to play? I guess the former since that is the classical style (unless you are Jim Hendrix and use your teeth!). I suppose I can always have a look at her right hand to see the length or her nails the next time I see her? Martin

Hi Martin, I don't know the answer to that so we may indeed need to hold a fingernail inspection! I guess the former since that is the classical style (unless you are Jim Hendrix and use your teeth!). One thing is certain though. I would do a lot for Hayley but I draw the line at letting her use my teeth! Roger

Best wishes Grant The day Hayley confidently steps out onto the stage with a guitar strapped on and accompanies herself to perfection will be the biggest and most crucial turning point of her career. It will enable her to be taken seriously on a whole new level. Think Judy Collins, Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, Cheryl Crow, Jewel, They all had amazing voices and guitars in hand. If I were her I'd spend 4 hours a day practicing until proficient. Then, watch out world, here she comes!

I understand what you are saying, but that assumes a complete change of direction based on the names you cite. My guess would be that, initially at least, we might see Hayley accompany herself for one or two songs during a concert in the not too distant future. You may be right about the rest, but I suspect it may be a long way off yet. Best wishes Grant

Yeah, in the photo I was wondering if there was a slightly purplish tinge to the dress. I agree, it's one of her prettiest dresses! The design and the way it fits her figure so well, especially.
Roger, now I'm dying to know if it is your guitar she's using. I would bet that it is, unless she packed her old guitar from home with her.

Hi Libby, Yeah, I'd kinda like to know that too! We did hear over a year ago that she really liked it and was using it to write songs for possible inclusion on her next album but things may have changed since then so I just don't know. I wouldn't ask her because, if she isn't, she might be embarrassed to say so. Perhaps I should have given her a smaller one with nylon strings. Then, and bearing in mind my nationality, it could be described as a 'Classical Brit Awa...." Oh, never mind! Roger

I remember someone who went to one of her concerts recently said she was taking guitar lessons from AJ Moore, so would she have been using her own (your) guitar for that? Or just some spare guitar? Or his guitar? I read on his site he teaches guitar lessons, so I just wonder how that works? I've never taken music lessons before. Uh-oh, I think I'm getting off-topic.
