an alert for uk members
I may have got this wrong because it was a flash across my mind as i was busy with something else but it gave me cause to send the following email to friends in Cornwall: "Reason for emailing is that I just caught (only partly heard as I was busy doing something at the time) that next Sunday may be Hayley in Truro. Were you aware she was down there? I think I suggested to you your cathedral should try and get her and perhaps she agreed on expecting to be down that way any way for the event that didn't happen.
Its a recorded Songs of Praise.
May have got it wrong but just so you don't miss it. Peter S.
Richard, you seem to know the advance details ahead of the RT being available? Any knowledge?

Hi Peter, According to RadioTimes.com, Hayley is scheduled to appear on next Sunday's edition of SoP. Here is what it says (my highlighting): Of course, Hayley recorded one programme in Truro which was subsequently broadcast on 2nd November. See Dave's video here, for example. I don't think they repeat the programme but they often show highlights but there is no indication that that is what it is so, for now, we have to assume that two separate programmes were recorded. I have moved this thread to the Media board. Roger

Hi Peter, Roger and everyone There is also a link on the SoP website HERE which gives a bit more info than the RT. I immediately thought it would be a repeat of the 2nd November programme, but the new one refers to Daniel Boys and the Truro Cathedral Choir, whereas the previous programme had the Cornish Federation of Male Voice Choirs singing with Hayley. Maybe this is a new programme or maybe they'll just include one of Hayley's previous recordings. Best wishes Grant

Sorry Roger for causing hassle. The reason I put it originally in Miscellaneous was because I was not certain of my facts but thought I ought to put out a warning. I was sure Richard (or Grant whom I did not mention) would be able to contribute and in fact as a result I have learned an awful lot about relevant support sites from which to gain information. Thank you every one for supporting the initiative. Peter S.

I hadn't heard her sing Whispering Hope live before but it was excellent, as was Amazing Grace.
Whatever happened to the performance of 'The Heart Worships'? Now that would, I think, be a first! We shall soon find out. Cheers, Dave

There was a clip of Hayley wearing the orange dress at the end of this weeks songs of praise stating she was on next week. This is clearly a saved recording.
Stephen.

WOW!! She only sang one song, The Heart Worships, but it was absolutely stunning! At times her voice seemed to merge in the the instruments in the backing, so that it was hard to tell where Hayleys voice ended and the backing started. That is how precise Hayley's pitch control is there can't be many singers in the world that can do that! And Hayley singing in a great cathedral, I don't think singing can get much better than that! I think we might need to ask Dave to do his magic again, so that we can all enjoy it.

Hi Martin You beat me to it! It certainly was a beautiful performance of "The Heart Worships" (we guessed right that that was what it was going to be) and the lead in was just as splendid with the first strains of the intro following a chat about St Pirin with a view of sunset through a Celtic Cross, then our beautiful Hayley! Note to Dave: Please, please include that bit of video intro! But back to Hayley's performance - it must be very difficult to sing in a huge cathedral, empty but for the various techies and camera crews. Songs of Praise certainly got their monies worth! Best wishes Grant
