Hi everyone - me again
I have just remembered something else, I'm sure it was Amazing Grace that she sang as one of her set at the same Cadogan Hall concert - as she started to sing, there were some oohs & arrs from the audience who burst into a brief round of applause. It turns out that the song is the signature tune to a soap style very popular TV show in Japan. At least I think I'm right.

Yes Mark, you are right on both counts. The Cadogan Hall Gala Concert was held on 23rd September 2006.

It turns out that the song is the signature tune to a soap style very popular TV show in Japan. At least I think I'm right. Hi Mark and Roger Amazing Grace is the signature tune to a hospital type drama which is hugely popular in Japan. I remember reading somewhere - it may have been in Hayley's first book - where Hayley is talking about a Japanese photo shoot. At first, I seem to remember, the photographer had no idea who she was and just got on with taking his pictures. At some point he found out or realised that she was the singer of that signature tune. I remember because Hayley was amused by all the bowing and praising that followed - Guess you could say he became 'Hayleywowed' As for the respectful nature of the Japanese people. An amusing incident that happened to me in Victoria on Vancouver Island some years ago comes to mind. I was taking my time photographing a series of very ornate totem poles. When I finished, I stood up and turned around to be faced with a coach load of Japanese tourists stood in a semicircle and waiting patiently for me to finish. Not one made so much as a murmer! Heaven help you though, if they get there first! Best wishes Grant

Hi Grant, Did it not occur to you that they thought you were one of the totem poles? Roger

Hello hello hello Even though the new Japanese tour already starts next Sunday, Hayley is still very busy promoting her new album. Before appearing on the TV programme NHK, she participated to a photoshoot (see pictures below). Stephany

Hi Stephany and Colin I also thought the first picture rather amusing as the photographer is clearly pointing the camera at himself! However, what I am sure is really happening, is that the photographer is showing Hayley the live image on the back of his digital camera! Anyone who has had their photograph taken with Hayley will know that she likes to make sure the end result is OK. Best wishes Grant

Hi all, Someone just posted a short video of Hayley at a signing in Japan. She wears the royal blue top she wore in the In Tune with Nature tour. Take a look: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hu9h4ELvWg0What a LOOOOOOONGGG line!! You can see how popular she is in Japan. It's funny because she doesn't actually say much to her fans, because she can't! she just signs and they move on. Dori

Hi Stephany and Libby, Well done in finding that, as usual Stephany you are keeping us up to date with what's happening Hayley wise! Libby I agree Hayley does pronounce 'June' with a rich accent, I wonder how she is getting on learning Japanese! Steve H
