Hi everyone! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif I've decided to open a thread about art, so that all of you can post yours. Any mediums are welcome -- drawing, sketching, painting, collage, scrapbook, graphic art... it's up to you! To start things off, here is some of mine: "Heart of the Forest" This one's a blind contour... meaning I drew it with my eyes closed. I'll have some more stuff in a new post... I don't want to make this one too long! Oksy

Here's some more: Grape Hyacinths (coloured pencil) And below is some of my clipart. I basically self-taught myself to do this about a fortnight ago, so I don't have a lot of pictures yet. However, I'll post what I have so far -- in order, so you can see how/if I improved! All of it is absolutely free to use and edit, I only request that it stays G-rated, and is used only in family-friendly proects! Without further ado, here goes! Okay, that's enough of mine! Now let's see yours! Oksy

Hello Oksy,, good idea for a thread! I like what you've posted so far, the flowers are pretty good! I'm not sure what I'd use the clipart for but they are very good.... and as you will soon see from my next post, I actually saw the mouse in the moon tonight - for real! Cheers, Dave

Hello Oksy! Many thanks for sharing your fabulous artwork, and it's given me an idea. How about designing your own greeting cards, eg 'Happy Birthday', for use on this forum? Best Wishes from London, Richard

Hi Oksy,
Steve is quite right. Your clipart is already as good as anything I have seen from Hallmark.
I have a few items to post later. Thanks for starting what will surely be a very interesting thread.
Roger

Those of you who used to belong to my 'Writers and Artists' forum (now closed) will have seen most of these but, with one or two possible exceptions, I don;t think I have posted them here before. So, here are a few doodles wot I drewed years ago! Roger

A marquetry map showing the traditional counties of the British Isles. Marquetry: Inlaid work made from variously coloured wood veneer, each hand cut with a craft knife. Then glued to a backing board and ironed(!), lightly sanded and given five coats of clear varnish. Roger

Hi Oksana and thank you for starting this thread. I regret I shall be unlikely to contribute as my talents lie elsewhere You drawings, photography and clip art are stunning. I particularly like "thinking" there's something about it I find quite amazing. And Roger!! Do your talents know no bounds? Your sketches, particularly the village scenes are quite brilliant!! More please!! Grant

Hi All & I'm certainly not trying to compete with the fabulous work already posted. Very well done all. Creativity is in all of us to some extent but in vastly differing directions. Fortunately 'Art' defies definition so therefore I'm posting this photo: Its not a good photo but it is an interesting pattern made of bucketing rain around a street lamp. The wind was strong too as can be seen by the varying paths of the water. I was not able to steady the camera to my liking due to the wind & having to protect the camera itself. I used a towel balled up & rammed against the balcony door post to steady the pic as much as was possible. Graemek

Wow! Thank you guys so much for your kind words! It's funny because half of that stuff was designed while I was doodling during class (don't worry, I listen too!). Thank you so much for your encouragement -- it really helps when you’re just starting out. You guys are amazing! Richard -- that’s a great idea! I’ll see what I can do. Roger, you are extremely talented! I love all of your village pictures because of the snapshot-like feel… a lot of character and personality shows through those seemingly-ordinary scenes. I particularly like the second one, with the family and the farm animals. Same thing goes for the countries -- very original! The marquetry was also great. Graeme, you’re right. Art really does ‘defy definition’ -- I love those patterns! Oksy

OK then, having broadened the definition of art, the following 3D models were drawn by me about 3 years ago having freshly retired. The steam tug Woona came first. I used to go for weekend excursions on the real one on Sydney harbour & a couple of times to sea around 1959. We got to know the Captain & off we went. This first pic is the 3d model placed on a seascape. (a 3D model is a mass of lines in space which are seen by the programme as solid coloured objects. You don't just draw , you construct a model.) 2nd is the 3d model viewed from below the water line. Water is like a glass plate. 3rd is pretty well a side view showing above & below water line. 4th shows Woona alongside the Biblical Noahs Ark. (1 cubit = 450mm) Black shadow is the waterline. 5th is a comparison drawing between Noah's ark & St. Michaels Wollongong. (I'm a member there) You'll notice an elephant standing in the Ark door. The Bible quite carefully describes the ark with full dimensions. Modern sizing would be about 19,000 GRT. The church holds about 300 people. The Ark has 3 internal quite widely spaced decks. Good head clearance. Enjoy....Graeme
