Hi Steve and thanks... but you flatter me! Nothing is certain in the Music World and at Amazon anything can happen (and often does!) There is a fly in the Amazon ointment - Russell Watson. Amazon in their infinite wisdom have decided to classify his pop album That's Life as classical - which it plainly is not. He has a big fanbase so he could trouble Hayley from time to time in the Amazon Classical chart - even though he releases a week later. As far as the real classical albums are concerned, once Hayley has been on GMTV I think she will surge ahead and stay there. I'll try to post news of any significant developments as they occur Cheers, Dave

I've just looked at the Amazon chart and "Treasure" has currently dropped to No.3
What is interesting, however, is that "Odyssey SE" has shot back in at No.11 and "Pure" (Down at 80 something a few days ago) is now at 47!

Hello everybody! To save searching, you can see the classical best-sellers at Amazon.co.uk HERE. 'Treasure' is still at No.3, so come on Hayley! You're good at climbing, so get back up to No.1! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifThe classical best-sellers chart at Amazon.com HERE is quite interesting. At the moment 'Celtic Treasure' is at No.67, while Hayley's DVD 'Live from New Zealand' is at No.46. There seems to be a lot of non-classical stuff in that chart too! Best Wishes, Richard

Hi guys, We don't need to worry about Ludovici Einaudi because he was released this week and most people won't be able to buy it in their local shop or Supermarket as they are unlikely to stock it. So they will order it from Amazon etc. and push it artificially to a chart ranking that it will never get anywhere near, in the official charts next week. A better guide is Natasha Marsh who has also been on ITV in the last week and is getting some nice promo - and who the Supermarkets have in stock. She released this week too but Hayley is well ahead at Amazon. An even better guide is the main Amazon pre-release chart and here are the top 5 positions as of 5 minutes ago: 1. Kaiser Chiefs - Yours Truly, Angry Mob (Release Date: 26 Feb 2007) 2. Bryan Ferry - Dylanesque (Release Date: 5 Mar 2007) 3. Arcade Fire - Neon Bible (Release Date: 5 Mar 2007) 4. Hayley Westenra - Treasure (Release Date: 26 Feb 2007)5. Arcade Fire - Neon Bible [Limited Edition] (Release Date: 5 Mar 2007) Note that only one album that releases next week is above Hayley. Her overall position is no. 44 so she's still climbing the main Amazon Chart (she was never in the top 50 before Tuesday). Moving in the right direction... so far, so good! Cheers, Dave

Hi Richard and Steve, You two are really getting me confused now! I checked Amazon.com yesterday and Celtic Treasure had just got into the top overall top 1,000 of the music rankings for the first time. it was around no. 800 or so. And today, as of two minutes ago, it was up to no. 564, which is just the kind of steady (well it will be erratic, actually!) climb that I had been hoping for and it isn't too far behind what we were seeing in the UK for Treasure two or three weeks ago. But I cannot believe Celtic Treasure has been up to no. 46 in between times... can you confirm this? Was not that position of no. 46 either: the UK CD "Treasure" at Amazon UK... or the "Celtic Woman" DVD at Amazon.com?

Hello Dave! I think I'm as confused as you are. The link I set up on Tuesday to Amazon.com was to the bestsellers in 'Classical Music: General'. Here is an alternative link to bestsellers in all Classical Music at Amazon.com. 'Celtic Treasure' is currently at No.55 in this chart, although it may not mean much in the USA. If you click on 'General' on the left hand side of the first page, you will see the chart I linked to on Tuesday. Personally I'm much more interested in the UK classical chart. Richard

Aaaah thank you Richard, now I understand! I somehow missed your post yesterday (how could I !) Now that I realise you were both discussing the Amazon.com classical rankings it all looks OK. I've mainly been concentrating on the overall music chart, which is what my numbers are for unless i say otherwise. You can get that simply by clicking on the (Celtic) Treasure page at Amazon and you don't have to look at the chart pages at all... lazy me! I see that Treasure is currently up at no. 30 27 overall at UK Amazon - its highest so far by a long way. It is also no. 3 in the overall pre-release chart - and *almost* no. 2 - ahead of nearly all the pre-release pop and rock albums! This is much more exciting news than being no. 1 in the classical chart... Treasure has broken clear of the Classical chart now and Ludovici Einaudi doesn't matter - he could take the Classical no. 1 again at Amazon but he's only high there because most people have to order it from them, he's not being stocked in Supermarkets and I don't think he will be in the official top 75 at all. Bravo Hayley, her promo people... and The Times! Cheers, Dave

Hello again! At Amazon UK, Treasure is currently: no. 1 Classical no. 2 prerelease (next week's releases) no. 4 prerelease (all albums) no. 23 (main CD rankings) This is the highest overall ranking Hayley has had with Treasure, so far. At Amazon.com (US) Celtic Treasure is currently: no. 6 prerelease (week of March 13) no. 49 classical no. 547 overall. Although the charts don't seem to be updated as reliably as in Amazon UK. Dave

At least one of my friends and myself, who both have Amazon Prime accounts here in the US, received an email today suggesting we look into Treasure by Hayley Westenra released on Feb. 27. I've already purchased Treasure myself, but he has never even searched for Hayley. I'm hoping these emails went out to lots of people who buy a preponderance of classical music. Maybe that will help bump up her numbers a bit here on Amazon.com.
