Hi Toronado, That's good to hear, I am sure it will help the sales of Celtic Treasure at Amazon.com and in the US. It would have helped a lot more if they'd got the release date right - March 13 not Feb 27!!! Half of the people they emailed will have forgotten about it in two weeks time! By the way, at Amazon UK today, Treasure is up inside the main top 20 album rankings for the first time - no. 19This is good! Dave

Well, it specifically mentioned the import UK version, which is apparantly available on the 27th here. It made no mention of Celtic Treasure.

Wow, I bet that's unusual, Amazon promoting an import ahead of the main album. It will be interesting to see if they do it all again when Celtic Treasure is released.

Treasure is currently up to no 10 in the main Amazon UK CD rankings.
Its final overall pre-release position was no. 2, behind only the Kaiser Chiefs.

OK guys, replying to my own post again but it's UK release day for Treasure and time for an update on where the stores have placed Treasure this morning. 5 - WH Smith (online) 10 - Woolworths (online) 15 - ASDA (instore - thanks Grant!) 15 - Sainsburys (online) The problem with anyone placing it too low (ASDA, Sainsburys) is that they may soon go out of stock - especially Sainsburys who are the cheapest at £7.97 (info from Roger). Tesco I don't yet know and they haven't updated online - same with Morrisons HMV and Virgin. We could do with some top 10s from them to improve the average. At Amazon Treasure was up to no. 7 an hour ago; currently it's no. 8. iTunes have Treasure (two versions) online today, a day earlier than expected but their charts can take a day or two before they start showing realistic chart positions. Needless to say, Treasure will be no. 1 in whatever classical charts we can find, when they have been updated. Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave, I have just taken a leisurely stroll over to Tescos to check out the position there. They have Treasure at #15 priced at £9.77, but they are featuring it as their "CD of the Week"! Whilst I was there, I heard 'E Pari Ra' and looked up to see the video playing on the giant screen overhead. Roger

I just scrolled thru the UK Amazon... and she currently is ranked @ #7 on the bestseller list. I hope it keeps climbing!

Thanks Joshua, I think that makes it worthwhile copying the current Amazon Top 10 chart! Here it is: 1 ~ Kaiser Chiefs (Artist) ~ Yours Truly, Angry Mob 2 ~ Take That (Artist) ~ Beautiful World 3 ~ Amy Winehouse (Artist) ~ Back To Black 4 ~ Mika (Artist) ~ Life in Cartoon Motion 5 ~ Snow Patrol (Artist) ~ Eyes Open 6 ~ The Killers (Artist) ~ Sam's Town 7 ~ Hayley Westenra (Artist) ~ Treasure8 ~ Fratellis (Artist) ~ Costello Music 9 ~ Lily Allen (Artist) ~ Alright, Still 10 ~ Arcade Fire (Artist) ~ Neon Bible Hayley is mixing it with some pretty powerful company in the UK Pop and Rock World! Roger, I went into Sainsburys and Tesco too in the end, they have Treasure placed too low in my opinion (no. 15), I think the fools looked at the Odyssey special edition which entered the official charts at around no. 15... but the original version entered at no. 10. The fools! But they cannot be faulted on promotion (possibly paid for by Decca!) as it is very prominent in both stores. ASDA were disappointing, placing it at no. 15 and with NO extra promotion and only one rack. We need someone to check out WH Smith and Woolworths displays on Tuesday! Cheers, Dave

I must admit in my Tesco store it was No. 20. I could have saved £2 at Sainsburys but I had some money-off vouchers for Tesco !

Hi Dave, I can confirm my local Sainsburys also has it at #15. At the moment, they only have one left on the rack. I hope they have some more out the back! I am now wondering what Richard is doing in Ilford. Perhaps we shouldn't ask! Roger

Hi Everyone Although it is only two days since release I thought I would pop out during my lunch break to check out the HMV and Virgin flagship stores in Piccadilly Circus, London to see where the album is displayed.
To quote Hayley, "Oh Gosh" what a disappointment.
HMV has placed Treasure on the bottom row of the New Release section and I could see no other prominent display in the store.
Virgin was slightly better in that Treasure was in the middle of the New Release section directly under the Kaiser Chiefs. However, in their Classical department it was hidden away in the new release section and not featured at all in the prominent "Recommended Classical" cd display.
I only hope this situation improves next week but it may be that both retailers are waiting on the first week's sales figures before improving their promotion.

Hello everybody! I've now returned from my safari to sunny Ilford, where it's looking quite good for Hayley. In Woolworths 'Treasure' is prominently displayed as a new release, and it is at No.10 in the CD chart, price £9.97. Next door in WH Smith, 'Treasure' is displayed near the entrance as one of the 'Deals of the Week', but the price is rather high at £10.99. It is at No.5 in the Artist chart, and No.1 in the Classical chart. Here are the complete top tens:- Woolworths CD Chart1. Kaiser Chiefs: Yours Truly, Angry Mob 2. Amy Winehouse: Back To Black 3. Excellent research, Richard. Many thanks for venturing into uncharted territory to view the charts! Personally, I think WH Smiths have got the Classical Chart about right! Roger
