Is it really? This sort of thing always makes me suspicious. I well remember a song called "we love the pirates" by the Roaring Sixties. It was no. 1 on the pop chart on several pirate radio stations, but nowhere else. (actually, I think I have a copy somewhere, it is quite rare).

It's legitimate Martin, the Classic FM Hall of Fame compilation is also at no. 1 in the Official Charts classical compilation albums chart, and at no. 35 in the main compilation albums chart. The Classic FM chart is the official classical artist and classical compilation charts combined but by agreement, is published only by Classic FM.
As you can probably guess from its position in the main compilations chart, it will have sold and downloaded only a few thousand of copies but that's excellent for anything classical, these days. At £11.65 for a 5 CD box set, it's good value for money for anyone who enjoys snippets or single movements of classical music rather than complete works. I much prefer the latter but I may buy this compilation to give me ideas on which complete works to stream in my Tidal Hifi account. Annoyingly, the CD quality FLAC downloads from 7 digital cost £3 more than the same-quality physical CDs from Amazon!
Cheers, Dave

The Classic FM Chart also includes classical soundtracks. John Brunning explained that the chart is prepared by the Official UK Charts Company, and is calculated from the total sales of CDs, vinyl records and digital downloads. Richard

Official UK Charts 5 - 11 May 2017The big news in this week's Classical Artist Albums Chart is that Classical Reflection have a new entry at No.3 with 'Echo'! 'The Armed Man - A Mass For Peace' is down four places at No.27, Jonathan Antoine is down two at No.26 with 'Believe', and Ludovico Einaudi is a non-mover at No.1 with 'Islands - Essential Einaudi'. www.officialcharts.com/charts/classical-artist-albums-chart/20170505/147/Richard

And they don't even have a music manager, do they? Not the biggest record company in the world, either. Yet they are still successful.

Yes, it's a remarkable achievement. Apart from a few interviews on the BBC local radio stations in their area, Hannah and Naomi did all the promotion for Echo themselves on social media, which wouldn't have cost them anything. They're brilliant on social media, and they now have over 1,500 followers on Facebook. I'm really pleased they've been rewarded for their efforts! Richard

Hayley could learn a few things from them.

Classic FM Chart 7 May 2017Classical Reflection have entered the Classic FM Chart at No.5 with 'Echo'. This chart combines classical artist albums with compilations and soundtracks, so No.5 is still an excellent position for Naomi and Hannah. Ludovico Einaudi is back at No.1 with 'Islands - Essential Einaudi'. www.classicfm.com/radio/shows-presenters/classic-fm-chart/einaudi-islands-no-1/Richard

Official UK Charts 12 - 18 May 2017Sadly Classical Reflection have dropped out of this week's Classical Artist Albums Chart with 'Echo', but Hannah and Naomi certainly made their mark and achieved one of their ambitions with a hit album. 'The Armed Man - A Mass For Peace' is up five places at No.22, Jonathan Antoine is down ten at No.36 with 'Believe', and Ludovico Einaudi is still at No.1 with 'Islands - Essential Einaudi'. www.officialcharts.com/charts/classical-artist-albums-chart/Richard

Perhaps if the album were more widely available (e.g. HMV shop or is that just the big labels ?) then it might have stayed in the charts for longer ?
