Hi All,
I am not sure if Daniel Rodriguez has had a thread on this board before. Daniel is known as the Singing Policeman - he was in the police force that dealt with the aftermath of the New York September 11 attacks.
I am assisting Daniel's fan site in putting videos on line. Just last week, Daniel was on Hour of Power, performing "An American Hymn". A text that appears regularly in that song is "I am home".
I have uploaded it to this page: www.classicalrelatedperformances.com/danielrodriguez.htm
And when I played that song the first time after uploading it, I was staggered to see this picture:
I point out to you the word "Home" in the bottom right corner of the picture ... I really thought for a moment that Microsoft had taken Artificial Intelligence to new heights, so that key words in a video song would automatically appear in the skin of the player.
It was an uncanny experience, but then I realised I was playing the video in the new Winodws Vista environment. Now one major aspect of Windows Vista is that it works with transparent skins - you can see an outline of the previous page beneath the edges, taskbars etc of the current page.
And the previous page I had opened was the Daniel Rodriguez download page - which contains a big text link "Home".
Here is a picture of the section of the page that that functioned as background:
I myself created that page - and the result really sent my thoughts racing: can people create software already now that derives its contents from the video itself.
I suppose that's futuristic music.
