At Katherine's official forum, I was introduced to the singing of 18-year old Siobhán Oliver from Ireland. I was sufficiently impressed to get in touch with her parents, and as a result I have now added a new page to the Young Classical Performers MSN Group: groups.msn.com/YoungClassicalPerformers/siobhanoliver.msnw She has had very limited formal singing lessons to date - but even without that, she does sing very well. The videos on that page were recorded by her dad - and the audio track on the videos is identical to the mp3s. There's a bit of clipping in the sound, but it doesn't detract a lot from the singing. By the way, she is performing Lascia Chio Pianga and Panis Angelicus Gerrit

Thanks Gerrit. You seem to get busier by the day!
Siobhán sounds really good to me and I hope we get to hear more from her before too long.

Hi All, With thanks to Sibh's mother Al, I have a new video of Sibh performing Mein Herr Marquis: www.classicalrelatedperformances.com/siobhan/meinherrmarquis_siobhan_feb2006.wmv I thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed this performance. It's a home-made video, and you can see (hear) that - but for a home video, it's fantastic quality - and I don't mind saying, Sibh is a fantastic singer. I so loved this performance! Check it out! Gerrit

Thanks for posting the video Gerrit! I really enjoyed Siobhán's version of the Laughing Song from Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss II, although I don't think I've heard those lyrics before. It would have been written in German originally, so there are probably many different translations. It was a wonderful performance by Siobhán, and the man in the hat was priceless! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes from London, Richard
