I must remember to keep saying nice things about her. Yeah, you wouldn't want to see Hayley when she's angry! You wouldn't like her when she's angry! Hi Toronado, But could our sweet Hayley really get angry ?? Well ...........Enjoy Graeme

Hello Hayley! Many thanks for dropping in and giving us an update. I'm pleased you're having a good time in America, and I'm sure you are winning many new fans on the Celtic Woman tour. I'm looking forward to seeing you again at Cadogan Hall on 9th April, and at the Royal Albert Hall on 1st June. Meanwhile I'm enjoying reading the reports and listening to your wonderful 'Treasure'. Take care, and try not to work too hard! Lots of Love, Richard xxx

Hi all: I don't know if Hayley will be reading this again so I will address it to everyone... I'm glad she had a good time at the concert! It was great to be there. I think she sounded great. And, as I said, I love the new songs and the old...especially the faster ones. I have always been partial to faster songs! hehe I feel so lucky to have heard her voice over these past few years with the release of each album. It's still Hayley but she just keeps developing and changing a little each time I hear it. Every time I hear her she sounds a little different but just as polished and refined. Hopefully her being a part of CW will keep her touring so we will all get a chance to hear her Thanks for dropping by Hayley! It really was a lovely concert...Now if I could only get to hear Wuthering Heights live I could die a happy woman <hint hint> hehe. And, of course, sorry if my saying singing lower is bad, I do have an untrained ear...this is why I hate posting reviews!!! I warned you all...I don't know the right things to say! Hi alena, I know exactly how you feel !! I am hopeless at posting a review...I much rather comment on the terrific efforts of other members !1 I congratulate you for your courage though !!! I think you did fine !! Love, Marianne

Thanks too for your posting Gene’s report of the Ulysses event, Stephanie. That really sounded like a wow of an evening and as Grant said in a later post, these smaller venues can be far more fun than the large concert halls. Having said that a mix of them trough the year is of course the best of all worlds! I am sure Telford was something like this and will be again if we are sufficiently on the ball as to gain the tickets!
Thanks Alena for your initial song list (post 25). Never assume someone else will do it. We cannot have too much Hayley and it is better to have several posting the same event then find everyone thought someone else would ‘handle that bit’ and we miss it out completely.
Thanks Graemek (post 27) for a superb range of pics. Every time I have a gap of seeing Hayley (usually about three months) she is both changed and the same. In this range of pictures she’s more the maturing young woman than the teenager, her self-possession has moved on yet again while the whole remains the essential Hayley.
From Alena post 39
Now that is Hayley! What other artiste would respond with such open honesty? But it is in that small intimate atmosphere where she is likely to take that ‘first time risk’. Perhaps after the formal show as an informal encore, chatting afterwards? So, those going to intimate concerts, you could be the ones that gain that experience first!
TimJ wrote:
(post 43) Yes, Tim, that is my problem too. I have difficulty in just making cryptic one word notes or three word phrases when Hayley is singing. Eiher of which turn into a paragraph or two.
One is so enraptured and so entranced. Then, as I am usually in an hotel with my laptop, I look at my usually illegible writing and trying to decipher it I relive everything. Sufficient prompts come through that I can recall almost every second of sequence, re-awaken the emotions felt at the time and . . . yes, Richard, I can sense you reading over my shoulder as I type, ‘that’s why he waxes so lyrically in his reports, it takes as long to read them as her original concert’!
No 55, Yes, Marianne. (and Belinda too). I am now feeling what I am sure you must feel for far too long through the year, what it is like to have to make do with other people’s reports of meeting with Hayley and being at her concerts. Thanks folks for all your time and trouble in your reporting. You really rub the salt into the wound (in a nice way) by telling us how great we would have felt had we been there!
So, Hayley, let me thrust in a thought for those down under. Don’t forget your home folk too late in the year when it comes to promoting ‘Treasure’ NZ style.
Post 57 from Alena
Thanks for the prompt. I must order 'Celtic Treasure' urgently from Amazon so it arrives before I hope to see Hayley in April. Then I can ask her to sign both.

I fully support Roger here. While we appreciate the liquidity of prose that seems to flow so effortlessly from so many and the thousands of words unpenned by a few incredible photographs, it is the diversity of experience we appreciate. Particularly, as I commented earlier when I popped in briefly the other day after a long gap, it is great to hear from those who do not have cause to post that often.
Post 59 Alena Very interesting comment. Do you recall a published criticism, commented upon here, somewhat derogatively, going back now some eighteen months perhaps, where the reviewer described Hayley in terms similar to ‘a soprano going on mezzo-soprano in time’.
It may seem incredible, but I really want to appreciate ‘Treasure’ which is why it is sitting here by me still in its wrapper! But the extracts I hear on the main page as I load in is that her voice seems higher and lighter for ‘Treasure’ generally.
Alena, you are expressing yourself as you perceive things to be. This is a superb review. It is great reading you.
Alena. You have given us a superb review. It was really great hearing from you. Very well done. Thank you.

I agree entirely on your comment about mummer’s dance. I’ve only heard it live once and she did it superbly well.
Very interesting report fusilier23. I like the background lead-in you give. Thank you.
It suddenly occurs to me, atmosphere. Are these places not smokey or has smoking been totally banned? The environment sounds like a place where traditionally one would have expected smoke and beer. But presumably not, otherwise she would not take part as it would cause her voice too much damage?
Your captions Graemek in post 91 are superb. I love them!

1. I entirely agree. 2. Apply it to yourself too, Mariannek!!
Well, I’ve done what I was bidden. Replied in one post rather than a dozen or so separate comments as i caught up on the thread. I did it using Word as a compilation so hopefully it will work out all right when it is pasted back.
What do you call a reviewer of reviews? A re-reviewer?
Well done everyone and 'thank you'. It has been a superb read catching up on this thread.
Peter S.
Postscript's postscript! I would like to pay tribute to a great contribution from Dave on this post.
I had a habit of catching up by posting instantaneous responses on the spur. Unfortunately, this sometimes led to a whole list of Postscript for anyone who did what I usually do, click the latest thirty. This, Dave pointed out to me in a PM (though he expressed this far more gently than I am now) as a 'right pain in the butt'!
Hence this compilation, which rather swung things to the other extreme. Since many of my reviews run into multi-part sets, there really isn't a reason why my review of reviews should not do the same.
I did think it was not too late to split this post into several sections, but in view of Dave's hard work in making my mess of words a reasonably pleasant-looking volume as to entice reading, I am going to leave well alone and post a sincere 'thank you' to Dave for his layout and presentation contribution.
Peter S. (again!)

Hey Alena, great review!! Steven I don't think you need to worry about having offended Hayley - her post didn't say that at all! And see Alena you were right, Danny Boy was lower than at CW concert but right on key with Celtic Treasure. I really have to hear Hayley live again myself! And Alena, I am starting to regret not giving you either an album or the 'New Journey' DVD to get autographed for me! That wasn't a very smart move on my part! God Bless, xx Tashi

Everyone: Thanks for the compliments on my reviews, etc. Ulysses was a great show and a great cap to the weekend so YAY! The more I think about it the more I appreciate Prayer...especially opening with it. I was reading the thread where everyone rated their Odyssey track favs and it's true Prayer does rate highly for me, but I guess the faster songs rate top (no shocker there right), but Pryaer rates a solid 9, so I shouldn't be surprised she sang that. LOL <sigh> I will probably return to lurkdom now. As big of a fan as I am, I spend most of my extra time with family and friends these days! Unless, of course, something else here pops up that I simply cannot stay away from! hehe. Talk to you later! Tashi: That's IT! I am going big sister on you. NEVER again am I going to a signing without something to sign for you...this has happened too many times. It's not like you can have too many signed items...so, next time, I am coming up to get them or you are mailing them...no resistance from you <this is my resolved face> . It's a good thing I love you....

Hello everyone, You may recall seeing Tim J. interviewed in front of the camera on the NZ TV report from Ulysses' - well that wasn't all... he was behind a camera too, at the same gig! So there is a nice surprise waiting for you on the HWI Video Page here.It is the top item, highlighted red. Enjoy! Especially Joe, this could be a 'first' for you? Many thanks to Tim for some excellent camera work in very difficult conditions! Cheers, Dave
