I am delighted that Hayley sang 'Mummers Dance' as it seems so perfect for a CW concert. I agree with you Roger. I think she should sing it more; her cover of "Mummers Dance" is amazingly beautiful. I didn't know the song before watching the Cadogan Hall video on HWI - and I've become a fan since then. I'm glad you said that Stephany. I think the combination of that gold dress, her singing itself & her little wriggling dance movements made that "mummers dance" totally memorable. If I remember rightly Roger, you were at that performance weren't you? Graemek

Hi Graeme, Yes, I was. I had always hoped to see Hayley perform 'The Mummers Dance' and it was the first time she had done so in the UK. Roger

And don't forget she was also accompanied by the extraordinary Fiona. Roger, do you have any idea why the song was shortened? It didn't last more than 2minutes if I remember well. Sadly!

Hi Mark and Stephany: No, Hayley didn't play while she sang...she said she was too nervous to. Oh no, really?! Thanks for the answer, Alena. I'm sure it was great anyway...but it would be fantastic if she could play & sing it simultaneously. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

I didn't realise it had been shortened. Sorry, I've no idea as to the reason. I checked - it lasted around 1:50min. Very short; considering that the bonus track on the Pure CD is at least 3min.

Hello everybody! I've just noticed Tim has added even more photographs to his post HERE, and I particularly like the one of Steve Abbott. He really is a manager in a million, and he's been working with Hayley for nearly four years now. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes, Richard

Love, Marianne Marianne, I agree at 100% with you!! She's brillant - and I think it's great that she's still performing at small venues like in Ulysses. I would give a lot to attend one as well. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Alena, thank you so much for your pictures! I think the one with you and Hayley is absolutely gorgeous. Did you frame it yet?

Those of you who know me well (I’ve been around forever but am a bit…shall we say quiet til you get to know me) know I’m very up front…so I say what I think…but I am not into reviews with long details about clothing and witty remarks. Here it is: General statements: Hayley is singing a bit lower…not that that is really a bad thing. Her voice has a bit more depth to it these days…she’s maturing. I think it’s good to embrace where your voice takes you and I think songs like Dulaman and Summer Fly really showcase her more robust voice. See this is why I hesitate to write reviews…is robust a “bad word” in singing? I don’t consider it such, but I hope no one takes it that way. Her voice has more depth now. I’m actually a little surprised by the two songs she chose off Odyssey…maybe they are just her favorites…Prayer and Ave Maria. Maybe they are less taxing on her voice or her range than some others or a good warm up in the case of Prayer for the first song. They aren’t my favorites, but were well done. Insight anyone? Prayer – Lovely piece – it’s a nice serene way to start the evening and puts a nice tone to the concert. Not particularly Celtic, but it is beautiful. Scarborough Fair – Pretty…well sung. I have heard it a lot from her lately via CW and her CD but she did a lovely job and it was nice to hear it up close (since my seats weren’t that close at Radio City). Shenendoah – Not one of my favorites but one that I appreciated hearing MUCH more live than on the CD. One thing I will give Treasure is that they captured a lot more emotion in her voice than Odyssey did…the concert, of course, showed this a bit more and it was lovely. Dulaman – Absolutely lovely…YAY she is taking risks and I LOVE it. YAY YAY YAY….it suits her voice and she lets go and has a little fun up there…you can see it in her face and hear it in her voice. Sometimes she is quite reserved, but you can see a bit of her come out when she sings this song and its sooo nice. The crowd liked it too and several passers by outside stopped to listen! Sonny – georgeous…this is good for her more robust sound too…at least in my opinion. It is a more “meaty” slow song and I like it. She did a lovely job Ave Maria – never been one of my favorites and I heard it live at Supper Club with the release of Odyssey. She did it well and the crowd seemed to appreciate it – and I did as well. Summmer Fly – the background music overpowered her a few times on this but other than that (which can be expected considering they hadn’t played together before) it was great!! Yay…another good song for her with a bit of a risk. Again…she got into it and seemed to enjoy it. The crowd LOVED it and she seemed to feed off that and got more into it. Excellent piece. In Trutina – Lower than on Pure but very nice…like I said I think that they shouldn’t push her…it sounded lovely and clear. I love hearing how voices mature and the same songs over the years so I was thrilled to hear her sing this one again! Very nice Mummers’ Dance – YAY she sped things up again (which is obviously what I am partial too right?) It sounded wonderful. Again, great to hear something again with a maturing voice. Yes, I am a broken record, but I loved hearing the change…not better or worse than Pure, just different. YAY! **Amazing Grace - I left this one out originally. Another song that isn't one of my favorites and I have heard her sing it live so many times and I am not surprised I forgot it LOL. Not that she doesn't do a lovely job, but it simply cannot compre to the excitement of Dulaman or Summer Fly or Mummers' Dance. It was nicely done though! Pokarekare Ana – again, a bit lower but same clear, lovely sound. Well done! We’ve all heard this song too many times for me to say much more right? Danny Boy – very well received. She sang it lower than at the concert/CD and it was really interesting/intimate, more almost haunting sounding (grr…again not in a bad way). Very nice indeed. After the show she took a picture with me and I mingled a bit and then went home. I snagged a flyer so that was cool - especially since I already have everything I own of Hayley's signed Okay - that's the best I can do for you all.
