ARRIVING IN DUBLIN AT DUBLIN AIRPORTYou can catch a DUBLIN BUS number 16A outside the ARRIVALS area and to the left about 40 metres at Dublin Airport. This is a standard double decker bus the Number 16A should be clearly visible on the front. Pay the driver as you get on, tell him your destination and have euro coins ready the cost is under €5 per person to any destination on the route one way only. This bus passes through O'Connell Street in the centre of Dublin and a few minutes later it passes through Upper Camden Street about 50 metres from THE HARCOURT HOTEL. www.harcourthotel.ieUpper Camden Street is about 35 minutes from the airport, depending on traffic and the number of times it stops for passengers along the way. They DO NOT ANNOUNCE THE STOPS on these busses like they do in civilised countries you have to ask either other passengers or the driver to let you know when to get off. You must take your bag or case on the bus with you (Keep an eye on it.) as there is no under bus luggage compartment. If you are traveling light this won't matter anyway. The view from upstairs on the bus is good but be cautious of using the back seats A TAXI to the city centre from Dublin airport will cost between €20 and €25 and is far quicker than a bus. There is also a more luxurious coach service to various destinations and Hotels around Dublin known as Air Coach

Well, due to Stephany and Roger there's now a CONFIRMED concert in Dublin as I see. As I've just heard from comet we may all be meeting at the Harcourt Hotel in the afternoon. Referring to comet's post # 33 and to start the discussion about an arrangement... - how do you feel about a meeting at 3:30 p.m. and a subsequent diner within the NCH foyer ? All the best Karsten

Hi Comet,
I've just noticed that your map of Dublin (in post 46)
shows another hotel besides the one in Harcourt Street.
Wouldn't want anyone going astray looking for Harcourt St.,
especially during the dark evenings of December!
Might give the wrong impression?

Hi Folks. NEW MAPShowing how close the www.harcourthotel.ie is to the www.nch.iesorry the previous map has been reduced to the point where the type can't be read. Photobucket allows me to reduce the picture size. I have no idea how to reduce the FILE size.

Hi Comet,
Microsoft Photo Editor (in MS Office) is handy for reducing file sizes.
Click 'Image', click 'Resize', change cm in the box to 'pixels', then reduce the % with the scroll. Save as new file.

Hi Comet and Paddy, The basic Windows "Paint" programme (Start - Programs - Accessories) lets you compress image files (reduce file sizes), although it is very basic and gives you no control over the amount of reduction. It reduces many files to about one fifth the original file size i think, and it will often do the job. I have posted details of how to do this in Technical Support here.... which is where any further discussion of the technicalities should be posted Cheers, Dave

Hi everybody, there are less than four weeks left and there's no count-down ? By the way - I know I'm early - what about the HWI pre-concert meeting (cf. # 33 and 67) ? Cheers, Karsten
