Joe I would be extremely keen to buy one of those Celtic Festival CD's. I'd love to hear Hayley sing that rebel type song 'The Island'. She'd make it sound like a hymn I would think!! Then again she might not !! Are they available to people outside Canada & the US?? While I'm on the subject is there a photo gallery made of those performances?? Graemek. Hello Graeme! I've made enquiries on the Celtic Colours forum as to when this year's compilation CD set might be made available. The 2005 festival was a 2-disc set...The Cottars had a song on it. The online store Cranford Publications should stock it once available. I only hope Hayley's performace of "The Island" will be on it. Cranford will ship internationally. Lastly, I've not been able to locate any pics of Hayley from her performance at Celtic Colours. Best Regards Graeme, Joe

Thanks for you trouble Joe. Looks very promising. It seems Hayley made quite an impact in the Port Hawkesbury venue. Something to look forward to. Graemek

Hi all, I've just been contact with someone who attended the festival. I should have photographs of Hayley's performance in Cape Breton in a few days. Joe

Some photos of Hayley at Celtic Colours Int'l Festival, 6 October 2006; courtesy of nataliemacmaster.com Here's a photo of Hayley during sound check. Also, the photos that I was given are of a previously unknown performance the following day. This took place at the Glencoe Mills Square Dance, also on Cape Breton Island. These photos will be shown in that thread. Joe

Cheers, Dave 'Rare' is an excellent adjective Dave. Once again it shows the real heart of Hayley. She is thoroughly enjoying herself in what seems extraordinary 'humble' or 'ordinary' surroundings for an international star. Her interest is the music and the people with whom she is sharing talents and she is happy enjoying herself simply 'being'. But even being casual, she is extraordinary--look at that top over her 'everyday' jeans! It is stunning. Peter S.

Ooh, I can't wait for the DVD! I love it when Hayley sings folk -- that really suits her voice, but I'm lad that she showed off her versatility by adding a bit of classical (Ave Maria) as well! I've heard a bit of Bela Fleck's music, and he's VERY talented. Thanks for sharing the photos and news!

Hi Joe, Thanks for the fabulous pics - Hayley looks gorgeous, as always. I guess we can now all order that DVD....!!! Do you know what songs she performed at Cape Breton? Hayley performed 'Ave Maria', 'Both Sides Now', 'The Island', 'Pokarekare Ana', and 'Hine e Hine'. I was told that 'Both Sides Now' was sung twice by Hayley, because the TV crew wanted extra close-ups! The DVD is called Natalie MacMaster & Friends...the friends are Hayley Westena, Bela Fleck, and Carlos Nunez. Too bad we have to wait sooo long for it ! PS. I modified Roger's first post in this thread to add the year...who knows, it's possible that Hayley will return to Cape Breton in 2007

I modified Roger's first post in this thread to add the year...who knows, it's possible that Hayley will return to Cape Breton in 2007 Thanks Joe. Unfortunately that made it too long for the title of subsequent posts (once "Re:" was added). It therefore showed as October 200 (see Marianne's post above). I have therefore modified it again to reduce October to Oct. With any luck, it should show correctly from now on. Roger
