Hi folks, I want to mention Juliette Pochin before I post her photo, she certainly sparkled vocally... operatically (mezzo soprano) especially for a newcomer. But nothing could match what Juilette wore.. it must be the sparkliest dress I've ever seen and this is one occasion where no photograph and no video would do justice to what we saw. I thought it looked magical, with golden and silver colours in the spotlights shimmering and sparkling as she moved. Wow! The photo gives you *some* idea of how she looked but I'm afraid you'll have to imagine most of it... it was stunning! Hayley's dress was totally gorgeous - but not *quite* as sparkly as Juliet's! Below Juliette is a photo of the beautifully attired string sextet who backed the performers during the show. They looked lovely and are a good example of how well the show was put together, I thought. But I don't know who they are! Does anyone? Juliette Pochin The beautifully attired backing string sextet. But who are they? Dave

Hi Dave, The backing musician were introduced as the Angel Ensemble. I know nothing more about them and I wonder if they were formed especially for that event or if they regularly play for Molly's Global Angel events. It's a good thing you emphasized Juliette's sparkling dress because I can honestly say I never noticed it. She might have been wearing black for all I knew! Roger

StuartH, your camera produces an enormous levels diagram i.e. it picks up a heap of light in what are, photographically, poor conditions. It's very easy threfore to 'rescue' what the camera's system sees as dark pics & not get any graininess. Excellent!! I seem to remember you mentioning you bought a new SLR type dig. cam recently.
I'm about to look up what you said about it. You seem to have made a good choice.
I have a Canon T70 SLR film camera here (and I love the camera!) which I haven't used for a little while having bought a little Sony DSC P72 for general use. I miss the low light versatility of the T70 & it's telelenses. Not its size however.

Wow. All of these photos are FANTASTIC! They're probably the best concert photos (by amateur photographers) I have seen! I can't wait to see the Wisley pictures! <3 Caite

Yes Caite, You're right. Very very good.
I already had about 1x10^6 Hayley pics but apparently it still wasn't enough.
I'm still amazed that hardly any of those pics had any evidence of shudder. Graemek.

Yes, Graeme,
Stuart (and others) were very helpful to me when I was looking--still am in fact but that is a complicated reason not relevant here--and there is a wealth of very helpful technical detail available as a result.
Well worth searching it out.

By the way, I meant to say in my earlier post in reply to this, is it helpful to load with the raw material? Is it this the 'extra content' to which you are referrring? Peter

Hi Guys enjoy your concert, Side by side Haha At least you won't have to sing All by My self Say hi to Hayley from me. Any idea what you call a Group of HWI people. Is it a Swarm Some one was asking where Ian has been ,Fiona and Ian have recently been on tour with Heather Nova Belinda That's a very interesting item of news, Belinda. As will be revealed (perhaps already has been, I'm still catching up) the relinking of Fiona with Hayley in London--and Ian too--is very exciting. But it is too easy to read too much into too little! [Modified an hour or so later. I forgot to comment on your description of a body of HWI people being together. Now as I write, I offer 'body' but does anyone else have a suggestion to make? My only problem with 'swarm' is that the collective refers to nasty stingy, bitey, insecty things. Surely HWI people are something a little more meaningful and more complementary towards Hayley? A 'protection' of HWI members might sound exclusive to less regular or nonmembers and Hayley is very inclusive. Perhaps a 'cloud' of HWI. It evokes lightness, gentleness. It is evocative of her and surely of the intentions and desires of HWI members? Clouds can be opaque, evoking protective thoughts while remaining inclusive.] Peter

Hayley arrives - on the red carpet. She did this one just for me... *eeek!*
Dave Dave, these are all absolutely superb photographs. Now members can understand why i am not in a hurry to make my digital photographic upgrade! I need to think of my other possible uses. With photographic ability like this, it is not worth my time (or expense) even trying--for ahwile at least! Thank you Dave. Superb Peter
