Hello Andrew! I've had an idea. TV's popular racing pundit John McCririck is famous for his deerstalker hat, so if you want some free publicity for your 'Westenra of Christchurch' tartan, get one made in the tartan and send it to him. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifRichard It's funny you should say that Richard. Look... Look in the top-right corner. At the top of the steps is none other than John McCririck! But he wasn't wearing his deerstalker! It's not a good photograph, I know, but it really was him. He was there throughout the concert and seemed to enjoy it! Is that a cigar in his mouth or is he chewing on a chair leg? Roger

Wow everyone, some absolutely gorgeous photos of Hayley! Thank you so much for posting them. And it sounds like you had a great time at the concert! I was going to post one or two into the "Favourite Hayley photos" thread, but by the time I came to the last page of this one, I realized that there were too many to choose from! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Decca really should hire you to do Hayley's photoshoots! Thanks for sharing the pictures with us. Oksy

Hello again everybody! Many thanks for the wonderful reports and all the fantastic photographs of Hayley. I will definitely tell Fiona Pears and Ian Tilley to have a look when I see them in Battersea tomorrow evening. HWI's coverage of these events is getting better and better! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes, Richard

...and that smile again, she realy did enjoy herself again at Newmarket. Steve I think that is worth underlining. During the concert, Hayley said that she had really enjoyed the day, so much so that she had forgotten she had a concert in the evening! She was still enthusing about it when we met her afterwards. Many thanks for the wonderful photos Steve and Stuart. Roger

Many Thanks from me too for all the beautifully positioned shots. I know there is some 'luck' involved when achieving a 'good' shot but there's an awful lot of experience & skill. Contributing factors used to include price of film but that's gone. Response time is also a bit of a nuisance with digitals.
Opportunity too. I notice Stuart you had ready access to not only straight on but both pure profiles both sides & 3/4 shots both sides. Very handy.
pict0182id0 with all the fingers may be my favourite but there are so many 'wow's that it's hard to pick. I also tend to favour head or head & shoulders shots where possible.
A vote might be interesting but not till later...you guys might need a break!! We all really appreciate your labours & skill. Graemek

Roger Here's a couple of shots of John McCririck, First in profile - unmistakeable. The second, showing his appreciation of Hayley at the end of the performance. Not the best shot of Hayley but it shows how breezy it was on the night. Stuart

Hi Graeme,
Fortunately, I didnt have to move at all. it was Hayley who moved around the stage a lot, walking across the stage in both diresctions.
As you say, digital photography allows you to take many shots and choose the best. I use a digital SLR for many of the shots and that has an almost instant response time and can take repeated shots with ease.
Stuart

Hayley used the microphone well, moving from side to side, I did not move more than a foot during the whole performance, but as Hayley used the whole stage it allowed a variety of angles to be captured. Steve
