Whoa, that must have been great. Takes me back to my own college days of massed choral concerts, though we never had celebrity soloists.
Holly, sorry you didn't get to go, it alas, goes with the territory of being a working person, though I get enough vacation time that I probably could slip away for events now, but nothing's popped up this year.
And Roger, yes, we do sometimes run into that problem on the New Jersey Turnpike, though, thank God, in my current job I do not need to go on the Turnpike except to zip five minutes from exit 16 to exit 15 in the morning. No more drives to Camden for me, and I can say I don't miss it a bit.

Hi Roger, Thanks for that great write up, I felt like I was there with you, oh how I wish I was !! I am glad you managed to get to see Hayley afterwords, that always rounds off the day and makes it special. I am pleased Steve came up trumps again, we are very lucky that Hayley has such a considerate manager, and I am sure he appreciates the good work in support of Hayley that is carried out by the 'team' at HWI. In the absence of Stuart and I, did you and Dave get some good photo's? Thanks again for the detailed report, Very Best Wishes Steve H

Hello Roger! Many thanks for your detailed report. Reading about you, Dave and Peter escorting Hayley and Steve to their hotel reminded me of the time I escorted Hayley and her family to the stage door at the London Palladium, except that was a walk of less than 100 yards. Next time I'll take them the long way round! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifThe photograph of Hayley and Steve is great, but I hope you might have a few more to post! Best Wishes, Richard

Hello Roger and everyione, I'm afraid I won't be online much today for a few reasons... which include arriving home near Southampton at 6 am, having delivered Peter to his Cardiff hotel and Roger to his Sussex home... oh yes, and the small matter of helping to escort a young lady called Hayley and her Manager Steve back to their Cardiff hotel, too! I (we) decided not to take up the offer made by an ex-member of one of the Male Voice Choirs (I met him in the NCP car park!) to join him at the after-concert celebration at the Rugby Club. Partly because we hadn't then met Hayley and Steve after the concert and partly because my car park was due to be locked up at midnight! However, if I'd known then that Hayley had also been invited to that same after-concert celebration (as she later told us) you can bet your bottom dollar that my answer would have been somewhat different!!!! Another reason I can't do too much today (on the review and photos front) is that it's fathers day and my three daughters will soon be descending upon me and then, literally anything could happen and probably will! I'll post a very few photos in a minute but first, I'll add a one or two comments to Roger's excellent review... you didn't expect him to remember everything after no sleep for 36 hours, did you? Hayley's performance of Amazing Grace was... Amazing. After her a capella verse (or was it two?) the lone piper walked on but as he was still playing and as the orchestra joined in the lengthy instrumental verse (s?).... the 80 strong school choir trooped onto the stage from our right, walking all the way across, beyond Hayley and lining up in several rows to our left (Hayley's right). Then.... they started to sing... a verse or two of Amazing Grace. It was such a lovely surprise, it was not in the programme and it was, I think, unique in the annals of Hayleyism. Soon, Hayley joined in and the voices blended splendidly. Breathtaking is the best word to describe it, I think. Hayley, the choir and piper then left the stage but they would return later, more than once, as Roger has described. The massed choirs did not - I think - join in much (or at all) during Hayley's 8 scheduled songs but they did at the end in the finale, with Hayley and the children (again). And the "magnificent 500" male voices of Wales standing behind and above them was a sight and sound to behold! I even managed to remember and sing some of the words of the Welsh National Anthem - in Welsh of course - after watching Hayley's subtitled video of it from the Welsh Anthem Anniversary concert recently. Hayley was clearly word perfect in it - as indeed she was in "God Save The Queen" that preceded it. Well that is all I have time to add for the moment except to say that the concert lasted over three hours (including interval) and it is quite possibly the best concert I have ever been to or seen on TV/radio in my life. It was unforgettable, wow!Cheers, Dave

Photos! The first one (the only one I've uploaded so far ) is a scene-setter and you can't see much detail due to the forum width limitations. It is also a montage of seven separate photos that have - so far - been stitched together roughly and later, I will post or link to a much better and bigger version. The main stage was packed to the brim and the choirs overflowed into the balconies above the stage. Hayley is the tiny figure in the middle, front row, the theatre organ is top right. More photos later... after the kids have gone. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifThere are about 650 performers in this picture! Dave

Hello Dave, I don't know why, but this photo looks like a painting. Did you count the number of performers? Cheers, Raymond

Hello Dave and Roger, Excellent job to both of you. Dave, that pics that you "stitched together roughly" is amazing. I can only dream of the ethereal combination of all the voices young and old as well as the orchestra. Thanks for your review, Roger. Peter...I expect a report from you as well i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Fancy all of you later walking Hayley and her manager to their hotel ! I'll repeat, excellent job. You lot never fail to impress! God Bless, Joe

Hi Dave, Roger, Peter,
Thanks for the comprehensive reviews - looks like I missed a "gooden"!
The photos are great Dave, and the panorama is stunning. Well done! The light looks much better there than we had at Cadogan - is that so?
Stuart
