Hi, thanks Dave and Lothar for the footage you provided. I still have to sift the material I collected, including parts of "May It Be" along with the microphone case. Whatever can be used I'll send to Lothar as I don't have my own webspace for linking and I don't know how to upload the material to this site, and I am sure he will be so kind to post or to link to it. Anyway, it was a great experience for me to be there in Manchester (1st time to the U.K. at that!!!), having my ears caressed by Hayley's celestial tunes, meeting with Keith, Roger, Emmett, and Lothar (whom I had first met in Duisburg), and experiencing British patriotism firsthand. This weekend trip was anything but inexpensive, yet when we came near the concert site being tenderly welcomed by Hayley rehearsing Caccini's "Ave Maria" I knew it was worth every single dime (sorry Keith, I meant "penny"). So long, cheers! Holger

Hi Holger,
I didn't realise it was your first time in the UK so I must remember to thank Hayley for welcoming you with 'Ave Maria'. No doubt that was just for your benefit! I'm so pleased you enjoyed the evening and look forward to meeting you at many future Hayley events.
All the best, Roger

Great Job Dave, Where's Emmett ? is he near Lothar,Holger ... he was 1-2 meters left of Holger .... with a very cool bobble cap I made two videos of singing Hayley too. But I made a mistake of the position of the cam. Who knows a software which I can use to turn the mpeg-movie 90 degree left / 90 degree reight ? TIA, cu Lothar

TIA, cu Lothar VirtualDubMod will rotate mpeg videos but you have to re-save it as an .avi (including DivX). I use it all the time, it's a wonderful freewareprogram. TMPGEnc may do it too... but I'm guessing. That's more geared towards mpegs but I don't use it much, personally. I'm in love with VirtualDubMod, you see! I'd be glad to "fix it" for you, if you want... just let me know. Cheers, Dave

Actually, I saw that arrow heading towards Emmett. Luckily, he was so enchanted by Hayley that he never felt a thing! Roger

OK folks, I finally did May It Be... this is the first song, where Hayley's mic didn't work Not only that, but the engineers seemed to take an eternity to get the levels right after they plugged in or switched on the mic... the sound is all over the place and not of the highest quality, as I explained in my O Mio Babbino post. It was raining cold rain at the time, which was getting onto the stage, so things had to get better for Hayley after this! Notice that the engineer accidentally pulls on the microphone cables at the start of the clip... It's a huge file I'm afraid, 21 MB, and because of this I had to cut out 7 minutes of the long orchestral introduction (I'll do a complete version after the others songs are all uploaded). The announcer made it look like Hayley would come on stage immediately... in fact it was 7 minutes later before she appeared! Anyway, it's now available from here - Gerrit's HWI.net index page. Cheers, Dave

Do you have clips of Nicola Benedetti? I'm morbidly interested.

Hello Dave! Many thanks for the clip of "May It Be". It looked as though the elements and the technicians were ganging up against Hayley, so full marks to her for soldiering bravely on. At least she looked stunning, even though we couldn't hear her at first. I hope the BBC are ashamed of themselves, because Hayley deserves better treatment than that. I also hope the crew stay in Manchester next week! Bye for now, Richard

I have just uploaded the video of Hayley singing Caccini's Ave Maria. 4m 16s, 400 kbps, 12.5 MB. This is the second song Hayley performed in Manchester and although the weather is still foul, things are getting better... much better! The video is now available here - Gerrit's HWI.net index page. Dave..
