Hi Belinda, Emmett's face is is half hidden in the final frame but you can see him better a few frames earlier... just to Holger's right (left on the photo). Well I hope that's Emmett, anyway Hehe, I thought you'd be over here in the UK by now... only 10 days to the next concert, you know! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave,
I have downloaded Oh Mio Babbino Caro.
Hmmm, if I have to be honest, Hayley's performance lacked a bit of sparkle on this one. For some reason, it just failed to ignite me.
Anyway, that won't stop me from uploading the video to HWI.net - it's part of Hayley's history.
I simply do think though that there are versions of this song around that capture the emotion of the song far better. Unfortunately, I think there's hardly any emotion at all in Hayley's singing of this song ....

Thank you Dave for the video, and Lothar for the photographs. I really enjoyed Hayley's performance of "O Mio Babbino Caro", although she sang it rather gently. I'm sure her voice will become more powerful in time, so I would definitely expect her to sing more opera arias in the future. Well done Hayley! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifSee you all on 22nd September, Richard

Hehe, well I like it! More to follow asap. The 'critics' i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif shouldn't be too hard on Hayley.. the sound technicians were rubbish, forgetting to check the mic connections after accidentally pulling hard on the cables - her mic was dead until she'd been singing May It Be for 37 seconds. Very off-putting, Madonna would have been gone by then The interactive sound feed was 'thin' (the orchestra sound was disappointing, live on my hi-fi); Windows Media low bitrate audio isn't too flattering anyway; the presenter said rain was getting onto the stage; 'twas a chilly evening for wearing a sleeveless low-back dress; Hayley must have had restricted rehearsal time, having been in London the evening before. She'd probably just got back from her Asian promos and looked tired to me, I bet she still had jet lag! Anyway I'll forgive her, even if O Mio Babbino wasn't as good as it will be in her studio recording! Back to more of the clips...

Hi Dave, Thanks for the captures and the video. I was standing just a couple of places to the left of Holger in that picture, Im camera shy . I was talking to someone who had attended Classicalive in March, so thats how I ended up down there. I'll have to check to video clip later to see if that was me you spotted. Yeah you got it right there with the description of the sound. It was a bit of a mess. I remember hearing the speakers pop on a good few occassions throughout the night, but this was probably down to the downpours which suddenly started when Hayley first appeared. And all of us there trying to take photos in that, what a sight......hehe. Also throughout the concert the temporary roof sheeting was creating a mini waterfall to the front of the stage and fair play to Hayley and everyone involved, it did'nt put them off. Great Night , Emmett

Thanks for posting the links to the video clips. Even though they may not be Hayley's best performances its still great to see. And from the reports it seems that outside events were conspiring against Hayley so that she couldn't give her best performance.

Thanks for the video of 'O Mio', Dave. The overall sound quality on he night was poor. There were times when I couldn't hear Hayley's voice as well as usual so I am sure the 10,000 behind me must have had difficulty. The same is true of Heather Stott during her announcements and, indeed of the entire orchestra. However, the video is a fine memento of a truly amazing evening and I look forward to seeing the rest of them in due course.
