:)I have been away for a few days without access to a computer so this is my first chance to make a post about that marvellous concert at St. James’ Church. I knew from the first refrains of “Prayer” that this was going to be the best of the several of Hayley’s concerts I have attended. A combination of the sound system, sound engineer, the minimal but excellent musical accompaniment and the acoustics of this Wren-designed church allowed us to hear Hayley’s voice in all its glory. I overheard one person saying how Hayley sounds even better “live” than on cd. The rendition of “Never Saw Blue” was so emotional. Hayley had introduced it as “a very sad song”. A minor criticism was the lighting. I felt it would have been so more atmospheric if the lights in the body of the church had been turned out, allowing a gentle spotlight on the performers. This would have allowed all those lit candles behind the performers to be seen more clearly. Perhaps it was a Health and Safety issue? There was a bit of a scrum to meet Hayley afterwards, but we waited patiently and I was rewarded with my book, cd and dvd being signed. Hayley’s manager took a photo of us and it turned out really well. I have had to correct a “red-eye” problem so hope all look fairly natural. I have had a bit of a struggle to make this post, it was a firewall thing. I contacted Keith and he helped me to sort it out, also posting the photo. Cheers TonyW
