Hi I see you've spoken to the Royal Festival Hall, i've been checking their site every other day to wait for it to appear, it was initially listed as the 10th November wasn' ti. Well i've just been to hayleywestenra.com and the tour list has had London removed from it. >> November 12th - Birmingham Symphony Hall 13th - Cardiff St David’s Hall 15th - Edinburgh Usher Hall 17th - Llandudno North Wales Theatre 18th - Northampton Derngate Centre 21st - Southend Cliff’s Pavilion 22nd - Manchester Bridgewater Hall Any idea what's going on??? Is there not going to be a London concert? Had the 10th all planned out and London is one of the only venues that i could realistically get to thanks for any help Nick,

Hi Nick,
Unfortunately, the RFH concert is cancelled. This is due to a problem with the venue itself and is beyond the control of Hayley's management.
They are looking to see if there is any possibility of an alternative venue but, that is a very busy time of year and, it would have to be available for that date.
Sorry to say, I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. With the best effort in the world, that is a tall order.
Still, we have Cardiff and it looks as if our numbers may well be increasing - we were 11, we could now be 13 or even more.
Keith.

Thanks for the info Keith, Now that really is unfortunate, i agree that it is probably quite unlikely that they'll be able to find a replacement venue in time but i'll keep an eye on it i guess. HA, Cardiff's a bit of a trek when you don't have a car so i'll have to consider some of the closer venues and dates as back up me thinks. What's the deal on ticketing for the Novemeber tour, are they on sale for all the dates yet do you know? Oh and one fiinal question if you don't mind as this site has always been a good resource, what do you think the chances are of a similar Royal Albert Hall type conert around Christmas time like in 2003?? Would be nice if there was at least something in London before the year's up. Sounds like a right old cofk up on the part of the RFH if you ask me but then i'm not fully clued in. Nick,

An advertisement for Hayley's UK tour in November appeared in yesterday's edition of The Times. It states that her special guest will be Mario Frangoulis.
Mario is a Greek tenor who has appeared in the London productions of "Les Miserables" and "The Phantom of the Opera". His repertoire includes soulful pop ballads and film music as well as opera.

Roger Hmmm... Mario recently topped the UK Classical Artist chart the week his latest CD was released. He was then promptly kicked out of the chart and was never allowed into the Classic FM chart at all. Too much crossover and not enough classical! It didn't make the top 75 pop chart and in the US, he's never been in the Billboard 200 but reached number 3 in their Classical crossover chart a couple of years ago. AllMusic.com say about him: "The general technique is the slow groove beginning with subdued vocals, then a burst of passion and sizzle as the beat and production values pick up. " He sounds to me like an old fashioned Italian crooner - but I'm sure they'll pick a repertoire to please Hayley fans. Oh, he's signed to Sony Classical and I can't remember Hayley performing before with a non-Universal artist, I'd begun to wonder if that was taboo! It's interesting that they are already advertising the tour, I guess ticket sales are slow this time around, as Hayley and Pure have been out of the UK public eye for quite a while. I suspect we'll get quite a blast of advertising as we approach the tour and re-release date of Pure. Not to mention Hayley's exams...

I have just returned from the concerts in Birmingham and Cardiff which were a resounding success. Hayley was wonderful and we met her after each event.
I shall be setting off for Edinburgh early tomorrow morning (it's a long journey from the south of England!).
Full details and photos of these events and the remaining concerts will appear on the main site as soon as possible.

Hello all, I am just back from my trip to Newport/Cardiff (just on 2 hours as a write this), to meet Holly and her parents, and to attend Hayley's concert at St. David's Hall last Saturday. And I just felt I had to share this one with you! After the concert, Hayley made herself available for autograph signing - and a long row of people made use of the opportunity. Ever since Holly and Hayley first met (in March this year, when Hayley first performed in Cardiff) - I had my own dream of being able to record the two singing together. A few months ago, I bought myself a digital camera, hoping that the second time around in Cardiff, such an opportunity would present itself. And - to make doubly sure that Holly would be there, I invited her and her parents as my guests to the concert - which they accepted. Of course, I have no way of knowing if they would have attended the concert otherwise (undoubtedly, they'll let me know) - but this was one of my ulterior motives . Now, I was on the alert for some time - but by the time it was 11 PM, I didn't think a duet of Hayley and Holly was on the cards anymore. Then Keith decided to ask Hayley if she was willling to do a duet - and I had to race and get my camera back into action. If the image is somewhat wobbly - that''s because I was a bit wobbly at the knees myself - but I just managed to get de recorder started in time. Hayley wasn't going to wait to get started. The result? Well, you can download it by right-clicking the following link (or play it directly by just clicking it): www.holly-holyoake-international.com/clips/O04a/holly_hayley.wmv It's Hayley and Holly singing Ave Maria a-capella, at St David's Hall Cardiff, after Hayley's concert. And while it is undoubtedly an amateur video, I am very pleased to be able to present it to you now. Both Holly and Hayley did extremely well, seeing they had never sung together before and had not prepared for this. I think this is quite an historical event - I am not aware of any established artist who stayed on for so long after a concert, and then being so willing to sing a duet with a singer who has yet to establish herself. Also, the way Hayley responded to Holly's performance was so natural. Thank you, Hayley, for making yourself available after the concert and for being so approachable. And thank you for your willingness to keep going and sing with Holly - despte the fact that you are on such a hectic schedule! Gerrit

Hi all, Well, frankly, I can only say that latest developements have been sensational. As a result of the Cardiff duet, Hayley invited Holly to join her on stage at the concert in the North Welsh location of Llandudno. They sang Ave Maria, a-capella. And - it was mesmerising and magical. Just imagine two top class singers displaying their talents without any musical backing - just their voices. What an amazing experience. I had only arrived back home in Holland last Monday for a few hours, when I got an e-mail from Keith that arrangements were being made for this duet to take place at Llandudno. It didn't take long for me to decide to be part of it, and so I immediately returned to the UK. The result was that I received an official guest ticket to the concert (giving me a seat in a prime position for making a video ...). You can listen to/view this historical duet via this link: www.holly-holyoake-international.com/clips/O04a/llandudno04.wmv The performance has resulted in a number of Internet news items. Somehow, I feel a sense of pride that I have contributed to this publicity Holly has received on the web. Especially as I had invited Holly and her parents to be my guests at the Cardiff concert ! Enjoy a simply magical, mesmerising performance! Gerrit

Hi All, I have just updated www.holly-holyoake-international.com/ with full coverage of Holly's duets with Hayley in the past few days. There are photos from the Llandudno performance in the Gallery section; a scan has been added to the Scans section; two items have been added to the news section. And for those of you who like to have videos in large size, 640 x 480 pixel versions of the Cardiff and Llandudno duets have been added to the Multimedia section. Mind you, you will certainly need broadband conections to download those. The Cardiff performance is more than 30 MB, and the duet at Llandudno is more than 50 MB. I hope you enjoy the latest additions. Gerrit

Hi All, I thought I'd include a photo of Hayley (beside a rather transfixed me!). This photo was taken just after the last 'official' concert of the 'Winter Tour' which of course, was on Monday 22nd November, 2004 at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester. I'd seen the concert in Edinburgh exactly a week earlier and couldn't believe it when Hayley told me that she had remembered me from then! We were advised by staff that we shouldn't hang around for too long (and only ask for 1 autograph each! How cheeky did they think we were?) since Hayley was "rather tired". Hayley was however, as bright and cheerful as always... She had of course another concert to perform the next night, in aid of UNICEF (I still have an Email from Keith telling me all about that night!) before going off on tour with the Boston Pops Orchestra. In the picture you can probably see she is signing my 'Pure Songbook'. Before you ask why I didn't dispense with that awful polythene bag before the photo was taken, it contained a gift for Hayley, which I surprised her with seconds later! I have video footage of this meeting along with a friend of mine too, which I may post at some point in the not too distant future- If anyone wants to rekindle some of those memories from that rather atmospheric 'Winter Tour' . Andrew

Hi Andrew, Was the picture taken just inside a doorway on a corner round the back of the Bridgewater Hall? There was a lift there which is possibly what I can see in the background. If that is where the video was taken, I might be in it! Oh, the fame! .....So how come nobody ever asks for my autograph? Roger
