The Pure Tour New Zealand 2004
Programme
Following is a resume of the programme of Hayley’s New Zealand leg of “The Pure Tour 2004” as taken from the official programme.
First to perform was Hinewehi Mohi (she sings with the group Oceania) – who sang three Maori songs: 1) Pukaea (The Trumpet) 2) Hineraukatauri (Goddess of Music) 3) Kotahitanga (Union)
Next, Hayley performed her first three songs: 4) Pokarekare Ana 5) River of Dreams 6) Beat of Your Heart
Then it was Brandon Pou – Tenor – sang the next two songs: 7) Dies Bildniss 8) Le reve enfermant le yeux
Then it was Hayley and Sophie: 9) Panis Angelicus
Then Hayley sang solo: 10) Dark Waltz
Next Hayley sang a duet with Brandon: 11) All I Ask of You
This brought proceedings to the intermission.
The band opened the second half with two pieces: 12) Pavane 13) Hungarian Dance no. 5
Hayley sang solo with: 14) Who Painted the Moon Black? 15) Never Say Goodbye
Brandon came back on for another two solo songs: 16) Granada 17) Maria
Hayley sang solo again with: 18) Mary Did You Know?
Now it was Sophie’s turn to sing solo: 19) Tears in Heaven
Next, Isaac joined Sophie for a duet: 20) Greensleeves
Hayley sang solo again with: 21) Across the Universe of Time
Then Hayley was joined by Sophie, Isaac, Brandon and Hinewehi for: 22) Hine e Hine
This was the end of the programmed performance. But, it wasn’t over yet. There were still the encores – three of them in all.
First encore was Hayley singing: 23) Amazing Grace
Once more, Sophie and Isaac joined Hayley to sing: 24) Ave Maria
And, finally, Hayley sang the solo: 25) Wuthering heights
This seems to me to have been a magnificent concert. Just wish I could have been there to see it. Keith.
With thanks to Belinda

Well, Hayley's UK leg of the Pure Tour begins tonight with the concert at the Derngate Theatre, Northampton. Roger, one of our UK correspondents will be at the concert and we eagerly await his report. From what I see, the tour is virtually sold out for all eight venues and is clearly going to continue the great success Hayley has enjoyed so far. Unfortunately, the weather is not too kind. Although it's reasonably mild, it's very windy (gusts between 70 and 80 mph expected today) and showery. However, nothing could put a dampener on one of Hayley's concerts and, when people come out of the theatre afterwards, I know they won't care what the weather is like. I will be at Llandudno, North Wales, tomorrow and will be doing my own report. Hopefully, I will have some photos as well. Keith.

So far I have not seen any fan reviews of her UK concerts, the latest of which ended at least 30 hours ago.
Are they posted on the site somewhere? I looked but can't seem to find any.

Hi Steve, Sorry to disappoint. They have not been uploaded yet. The simple reason is that there are a couple of surprises for people in the concerts, and we didn't want to spoil the surprise for people yet to visit a concert. It was decided that we would hold back on them as a result. We do have someone at all the concerts and a full range of reports and photos will be available on HWI soon. Suffice it to say that was the fifth time I have seen Hayley perform live, and each time is better than the last. She is the only person I have ever met who can improve on perfection. Katherine Jenkins was superb. She really does have a most beautiful voice - and I don't usually like mezzo sopranos. But, she really is good to listen to - and a lovely person to speak to as well. Oh [censored] it!! I will tell you one of the surprises. Basically because I don't know if he is doing all the concerts or just a couple. b*andon Pou was at the Llandudno concert on Sunday evening. And there is another great performer. One of the songs he performed was a duet of "All I Ask Of You" with Hayley. It was just so beautifully done and closed an almost three-year gap from the release of her first, eponymous, album. And, she can still hit that top note. I have only one thing more to say: WOW! Keith.

Hi all, Pictured below is Hayley Westenra (and sister Sophie on the first pic!) at a concert in Bournemouth on April 1, 2004 during the 'Pure Tour'. The beautiful photographs were taken by Harry Herd for MusicPictures.com - hence the tag! Thank you Stephany for posting that excellent picture of Hayley and Sophie in Bournemouth. They were almost certainly singing "Panis Angelicus" together and i know this because I was there, in Bournemouth, and I well remember the concert. Not least because my daughter Emma and I got well and truly soaked in heavy rain, walking from the car to the concert hall... and it was, I think, my very first Hayley concert! Also, that duet was so unbelieveably cute and gorgeous that it made a lasting impression on me. So why am I posting now, a month late? Well I was doing some housekeeping on the HWI site tonight when I stumbled across a video of Hayley and Sophie singing that very same duet - recorded only three days earlier at the London Palladium on his camcorder by our illustrious member Gerrit! The stage was far away and the sisters tiny but hey, this may be the very first in-concert video of Hayley taken by one of us! Anyway, whatever the quality, I think this is a little gem (thanks Gerrit!) and here it is at HWI Everyone say "awww!" Cheers, Dave
