Hi Graham, I have voted for Hayley simply as a means of showing support for her. However, if my understanding of the word is correct, then I feel that Yulia is the "hotter" of the two and I believe that Hayley would be happy for it to remain that way. Roger

Hi Roger, I think I'll vote even though its a bit disingenuous of me to do so... the only way for me to truly know would be to break out one of the FLIR thermal cameras around here and use our real time software to take some heat measurements of them during their concerts... that aint going to happen any time soon, and besides that Hayleys camo security dude probably would frown on it - haha Peter Hi Graham, I have voted for Hayley simply as a means of showing support for her. However, if my understanding of the word is correct, then I feel that Yulia is the "hotter" of the two and I believe that Hayley would be happy for it to remain that way. Roger

I shall completely ignore this poll as I think it matters not one jot who is the hotter. However, there is no doubt in my mind whose music is "cooler" and it ain't Yulia's. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Haven't we had a thread about a poll like this before by the way? Hayley/Yulia? Dave

Roger I totally agree Roger, I have done likewise for the same reason. Best wishes Grant

i for one am surprised that 2812 people know who yulia townsend is. i thought she was just local more or less.
i wonder if this new poll is an attempt by stuff to get attention and readership. it seems rather pathetic.
the concept of hotness is a matter of semantics that is better left alone.

Hello everyone,
I personally find that poll apalling. We are not the type of people who support Hayley because she is 'hot', or quite simply, for her looks. This poll is emphasizing which artist is more popular among people because of their physical attraction (if not sexual) and I am glad that Yulia is winning that so far. I can't imagine anyone ever calling Hayley a 'hot' girl, because being hot has a lot to do with personality, as well as looks. Hayley is not hot, she's sweet and beautiful. Hot refers to vein people who really care about their appearance, especially with regards to attracting members of the opposite gender, and Hayley is none of that.
She's an angel. Angels are not hot - they're beautiful.

Well said Dori, and thanks for clarifying what "hot" means in this context. Like you all, I want no part in such a thing, and I don't suppose Hayley will be too disappointed if she loses.

I voted for Hayley only so prehaps someone will say, 'hey, Hayley isn't hot, she's totally down to earth, whomever made this poll was an idiot in putting this together, I'm going to email the site and tell them about it' and prehaps the site will do something about it, such as using a different word like better or cooler or more sucsessful if you know what I mean

Angels are not hot - they're beautiful. Dori Sorry Dori, but you lost me on the angel part. Hayley may be a lot of things - but she is defininately not an angel - and this is exactly the sort of comment that she has herself discouraged many different times. Besides - I have never personally seen an angel, so I have no idea whether they are "hot" or not. Wasnt Hayley nominated a few years ago as the worlds "sexiest vegetarian" or something like that? Didnt Ask Men do a feature on her? Wasnt there another comment a year or so back in a New Zealand write-up that she had great legs? All of these things are different ways of expressing the unarguable fact that she is a very comely young woman. Where was this outcry then??? "Hot" is a very subjective description which is very much in the eye of the beholder. When I was in college I used to be very attracted to what might be called the librarian type. I found (and in fact still find) intelligence in women to be a very sexy thing. Does this make me a bad person? Does it mean that a woman should not be intelligent lest they lead me to impure thoughts? The point is that while I agree that the term probably does mean "sexually attractive" - in the context of a poll like this, at root it has as much to do with the person making the assessment as it does the person in question. My daughter thinks that Josh Groban is "hot" My wife thinks that Jon Bon Jovi is "hot" and I used to have quite a pash for Olivia Newton John back in the day. My little sister had a major crush on Donny Osmond when she was about 10 (every argument has its faults ) All four of these people are mainstream artists who had considerable careers, and their perceived "hotness" was to one degree or another a part of the way they are/were marketed despite the fact that they were all centrist or maybe even genre-conservative in the way they presented themselves. Finally, what exactly is wrong with people in her age group finding her attractive? Should she try to gain 100 pounds, or wear a burlap sack to keep this from happening? Jon - who finds the entire debate a bit confusing. PS Dave - even in Hayley's case to this point her looks have at least an indirect effect on her career. If she weighed 250 pounds there is a pretty good chance she would have never left the island. There is probably a more direct effect in actuality - at least the inside back case photo of my copy of Celtic Treasure features her standing in a corner twisted in a somewhat unnatural position for no obvious reason. She may have some kind of severe back strain I suppose - but it is far more likely she is trying to accentuate her figure for the photo....

Sometimes it's easier to just not go there, which I why I think we should bury this poll.

Sorry Jon but I just can't raise one gram of interest in a poll like this, it's pointless as far as i am concerned. I had to really struggle to raise any interest in NZ Stuff's "Who Would Win in a Fight" Hayley/Kiri poll so this latest one I haven't even clicked through to. I certainly can't raise any inclination to debate it, I just feel a little sad about sites who make up such rubbish.. Dave

... Jon - who finds the entire debate a bit confusing. ... Same here, but I do think Yulia could pin Dame Kiri to the mat with one hand tied behind her back.

Dave Heh Insofar as the poll itself is a piece of trite pop fluff I am inclined to agree with you Dave - at least I didnt bother to go there either. However, I did find the resulting discussion which ensued a bit more ....well, unusual. The poll may be irrelevant, but I dont think the underlying issues it raises are at all. Steve - arent you Russian to that conclusion just a bit?... Jon
