Hi All, This recording was captured by Joe Marsden during the Winter PURE Tour at the Manchester Bridgewater Hall on: 22nd November 2004. Our very own HWI Administrator/ Videographer, Dave has remastered the footage and has really enhanced the original recording by removing the camera shake which was evident in the original. Here is: “Wiegenlied”, from that evening. This was the last official night of the Tour. www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nfyZE40IqgI will never forget that Monday evening - exactly a week after I saw Hayley perform live for the first time ever, in the Edinburgh Usher Hall. I got talking to Joe Marsden as we were queuing to meet Hayley after the Concert. Joe from Bolton, showed me the video footage of: “Wiegenlied” and: “Bridal Ballad” which he had captured and I was completely stunned! Joe also mentioned that he had a very keen interest in classic motorcycles. After meeting with Hayley, Joe and I exchanged contact details and kept in touch. Thank you so much Dave for really showcasing this recording. I am absolutely delighted! The footage of: “Bridal Ballad” will follow in due course. You will be stunned by Hayley’s crystal clear rendition of that song too. Just wait until you reach the end of that piece- Hayley glides up to those high notes so perfectly and with such ease. Andrew

Thanks Andrew, for the background information for that video and recording, it is thrilling to listen to. Looking forward to Bridal ballad.. Hi Paul, I’m glad you are enjoying the live recording of: “Wiegenlied”. My thoughts and feelings from that time are preserved forever in that music!... “Across the Universe of Time” and that’s another one of Hayley’s songs too! It is all part of the experience but I remember Monday 22nd November, 2004 was rather a wet day and the train journey from Edinburgh to Manchester was slow, taking the East Coast route, where we stopped at every station on the way! I remember spending a couple of hours drying out in the Museum with a coffee before the Concert, when I reached Manchester! Here is Hayley after the Concert at The Bridgewater Hall. It’s great to revisit the “Pure” Tour era again, isn’t it Paul? Would I do it all over again? Oh yes, I surely would! Andrew

Hi All, I have some very exciting news... The video recording of Hayley performing: “Bridal Balllad” on Monday 22nd November, 2004 (the final concert of the: “Winter Pure Tour”) at The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, is almost ready to share... Our very own Dave, HWI Administrator & Videographer Extraordinaire has enhanced the original video recording which was captured by Joe Marsden that night. The video recording was actually filmed from several rows back in the front stalls, so there were distractions created by silhouettes of people moving in the row in front. Dave has however worked wonders to remove these distractions when he edited the video. I think the quality of the sound recording is the most impressive feature of all though... There is such beautiful smooth legato in Hayley’s vocals and this is echoed through Fiona Pears’ warm and sensitive violin tones. Hayley glides to some astonishingly high notes towards the end of the piece too. You will not be disappointed! Dave has uploaded the video to the following link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYcvdhcmUawThis recording will leave you all feeling truly “Westenwowed”!!! Andrew

Wonderful restoration Dave, I shudder to think how long it took to come up with this fantastic result, considering the distance the original was taken from. The sound is exceptionally good for a recording taken from within the audience area. Well done everyone involved.

Thanks you chaps, you are too kind, bit over the top at times though! Unfortunately the occasional sound issues, particularly apparent through some speaker types e.g. ,mobile phones, couldn't be fixed without muffling her voice, so in the end I just went with the original audio. Luckily, Hayley's voice as always overcomes everything you can throw at her! Many thanks Andrew for unearthing the CD so we can revisit these two little gems.
